Looking for buddies who had Dec.5,2005 surgery
I'm looking for others who have had a Dec. 5 or close to date of surgery to compare notes with. I'm doing very well and have lost approx. 23 lbs so far, I haven't weighed myself in a few days though, I've been getting frustrated with the numbers not moving as fast as I thought they would. I've decided to weigh in once a month after my menstral cycle has ended...
I'm looking forward to hearing from some of you
Tracy
Hello! I'm a 12/5 surgery date as well. I'm down 26 lbs so far, but only because I was so sick last weekend on everything I ate! I'm trying not to weigh as much as well because I tend to get obsessed with the scale and it gets depressing. I also thought the numbers would move faster. I guess we just need to be patient. We will definitely keep losing!!!
Did you get your menstrual cycle on time, by the way? Mine was due already, and I usually have it early even, but it's not here yet. I was wondering if surgery throws it off. There is no possible way I could be pregnant or anything, but I like to know when it's gonna be here!
Keep in touch!

Hi all Dec. 5th Surgery Buddies,
How is everyone doing? I am so excited to be on the losing side! I have had a great 3 weeks post op and am afraid that something is going to happen! I have lost a total of 26 also, and I too have not had my period in the month of Dec. I guess its from the surgery, throwing us off course. Sorry to say I didn't miss having it.. HAHAHAH! I was a slave to the scale when I came home and it was good to me, but now I just go by the way my clothes are just falling off of me! My doc also said that your body has to catch up with your weight loss so if you don't have a loss one week, its just your body adjusting! I am going to start the gym next week, SOOO EXCITED! Got to start toning!
It is going to be a great year for us all, DEC. 5th BUDDIES! Lets keep in touch!

I'm glad you responded. I haven't my period as of yet since surgery, I was on Dec. 10 but wouldn't ya know, I got it the morning of surgery! Now I think I'm pre-menstrual and holding ALOT of water. I'm drinking and drinking and drinking but just not peeing peeing peeing. I'll go pee pee maybe once or twice a day. You wanna know works for me when I get constipated? My doctor told me I could use anything that I used to, just cru**** up. I use Senakot. Depending on HOW constipated I am I'll take one or two tablets and crush them up in 2 tbs of applesauce, pudding or whatever else is soft. If you haven't gone in a few days I'd suggest taking 2 tablets if you wanted to give the senakot a try. It's a vegetable laxative and does not cause any cramps or anything. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's lost between 20-25 the first few weeks. I thought I was doing something wrong. I start going to CURVES after I get my surgeon approval, which I go and see him on Jan 3. I can't wait to start working out! I excercise at home (sometimes), but would really like to get back to CURVES. We should send each other our email addresses so we can stay better in touch with each other. Mine [email protected] I hope to hear more from all of you!

I also had surgery on the 5th and last time I weighed (12/22/05) I was down 27 pounds. I feel great! I really don't notice the loss but everyone else says they do.
As far as the menstrual cycle goes, I normally have very heavy, loooong cycles. But now it's moderate and only lasts about 4 days. Praise God for that because I used to be in such agony.
I thought it odd that I only went to the bathroom every 3-4 days, but my surgeon says not to worry, so I'm not...(not yet anyways).
Congratulations to everyone on their weightloss!

I had my surgery on Dec. 6th, and as of this morning, have lost 23 pounds, although only 1 pound all last week! I started my period last night, so I'm hoping that several pounds will fall off in a few days! Someone else who posted above mentioned whether they could have sex yet, well we didn't ask our doctor, and since there is no risk of infection (like after having a baby), we figured that as long as I was comfortable, it would be alright, and thank goodness we didn't wait, I don't think I could have! No ill effects!
I am finally over my depression that I went through while on the clear fluids. I couldn't stand being around all the food that I wanted! My brain had yet to make the connection that I COULD NOT eat those foods! Well, now that I'm eating some more normal foods that I can CHEW, my spirits are lifted, and I don't feel deprived. It feels good to be satisfied again! My only thing is remembering how to eat correctly. Last night, I think I ate too fast or didn't chew well enough because I was home alone with my 3 kids and trying to make sure they all ate, that I didn't notice what I was doing. I ended up throwing up not 20 minutes later, which was horrible. This is a new learning experience!
I'm so happy for those of you who can and are having sex I myself am a single mommy with 3 kids and not in a relationship, sooooooo you get the picture! LOL Anyway, I should be on "regular" foods this week, I'm afraid to start normal foods. I've only gotten sick once and that was fish that wasn't chewed up enough. I'm not sure even what regular foods consist of? I've been feeling deprived lately and are just getting bored with re-fried beans, tuna and cottage cheese. But for now they are the only foods I feel comfortable eating. I made my kids fish sticks lastnigh and oh how I wanted one! I think I'll try chicken tonite, my step sister told me to try to dip the chicken in fat free ranch dressing, then cover with parm. cheese then bake. It sounds good, I'll give it a whirl. I had my period the DAY OF surgery! 5 days early. I feel really PMS'y the past few days and I'm hoping I get it early again to hopefully lose some water weight. I go to the doctor on tuesday, and I'm down 11 lbs since my visit 3 weeks ago! I feel ashamed like I should have lost more. Of course I'm not excercising like I should either, that'll change once I get the clearence to go back to curves. (hopefully)
