bad night
Hi Joann,
I had surgery 12/12, 6 days out I was still very uncomfortable and felt air bubbles heading up, heading down, and heading to places unknown. I thought the refluxy feeling would never end but it abated dramatically in a day or so. Every day gets better. Hang in there! (But call the doc/nurse if you need to!)
All my best to you!!

Hi Joann,
I went home after 5 days in the hospital with no pain meds either (a long story!). I did take some tylenol, as was allowed, before bed a couple times which really helped to sleep. I was surprised. Having recently learned it comes in a liquid I realize I should have sent somebody out for some!
I went to pureed foods sort of early, at 8 days post-op, not sure why the doc decided that but I have been VERY slow and cautious. Its going fine. i am still kind of gurgley but each day is better. My hard part is getting all the required fluids in.
Good luck hearing back from the doc and hope you feel better. Let me know how you make out!
Kelly
I have been home for 3 days and have slept maybe a total of 15 hours. I too can NOT get comfortable. I thought to myself, will I ever be able to get on my side again? Sleeping on the couch has worked for me, it is lower than the bed that somehow helps. I think that we will forget all about this in another week or so. Let's hope
hi all just called the surgeon office again, "still in surgery" (started getting really sharp pains for the last 2 hrs) i am sitting here crying because of the pain i asked the med assistant or what ever she was - is there not someone else who can ok this medicine called in for me, what do i do? do i go to the er? she tells me maam well i have your telephone number and i see what i can do - can you believe this?
When I get all the gas pains and the burping, stuff, I find that pacing around helps. Walk! Walk! Walk! That got me through some very painful times. Of course, drugs are good too..nothing like better living thru pharmaceuticals. I was in absolute agony until I took enough pain meds.I hope your doc ordered some for you. If not, I will share. Feel better, Sunny
Hi all - went to the ER @ 4:30 am and just got home, a subcutanoues (sp) hematoma- had xray & cat scan. what pi#*^d me off the most was that i called the answering service and left another message @12am and again at 4 before I left and still no call I asked the svc where exactly he was ( works out of 2 sites)- not only that i literally dragged myself to the nurses station and called again never anything - the er doc told me she was going to ive him a call after the cat scan results were back and all he said was follow up with him on thursday at my scheduled appointment- now he was in the same hospital as me and couldn't even get away for 5 min - un be lieve able - thank you all for telling me to trust my "gut" (or what left) feeling - i truly appreciate everyone here and their well thoughts. going to take some meds and calling it a good night unless i wake up the stalk the message board late tonight xoxoxox- Jo
