3 days out now and..
im feeling pretty good. i couldnt stand it so i "HAD" to jump on the scales. when i first started persuing surgery in feburary i was 371. 366 on my very first consult w/ dr. dillawn. 350 several weeks ago at my preop visit. 346 a few days before surgery. and 350 when i got home. i am now 340. so, what is the "right" weight to say that i started w/? the 371 since that was my all time high? just trying to decide for the little signature line..371/340/195? i suppose 371 would be okay since i was when i started this journey.
i layed on my right side slightly during my nap yesterday and all was fine. a bit uncomfortable getting there. the same when i went to get up out of that position when i woke up. but otherwise it was fine. however last night i thought i would try my left side (my sleepy side) which is the side i normally sleep on. i finally found a spot that was nice. after a while i became nauseated. had to have gary to help me up this time...couldnt get up fast enough (didnt want to puke!). i am thinking this is because the stomach sits on the left side of the body cavity and because things are still healing. i sat up for a while then settled into a "hill of pillows" that gary made me.
food intake...as far as this goes i am trying to get all my liquids in. gary made me some beef broth (campbells i think). he floated a nice slice of onion in it while refrigerating...to give it a french onion taste. i had about 2/3 cup of that for breakfast. wasnt too bad. i DID try a snack/lunch box size of apple sauce for lunch and it was good (motts, granny smith, no sugar added). it filled me up. for dinner i thought i would try some yoplait vanilla yogurt. like the apple sauce it was good and filled me. i think i felt it when it was passing thru the band area. it wasnt painful...just a bit strange. i feel guilty that maybe i am pushing the limits by not sticking to just clear liquids. i do NOT plan to move to chunky stuff for at least another week or so and then i plan on pureeing it.
i took the pain medicine only once during the day and then before i went to bed. my pain level today is remarkably less then yesterday.
