Home again, home again, jiggy jig jig.
I flew to Bogota, Colombia on the 11th, did all my pre-op stuff on the 12th, had RNY laporoscopic bypass on the 13th, i was in the hopsital until the 16th, at the very nice Hotel Tequedama in downtown Bogota the 16th, 17th and the 18th, and flew back to Houston, Tx on the 19th. It was a whirlwind kind of week. The surgery went great, although I have a few extra holes because everything was so big, I weighed in at 476 just before surgery, with a BMI of 67.5, and Dr. Valencia needed more hands to hold back my liver and whatnot to be able to get to my stomach. I had a severe brochil episode when they pulled the tube out of my lungs and had to be re-intubated and I spent the night in ICU. When they pulled the tube then, everything went fine, and I was moved to my private room, with my private, around the clock, in room nurse. The nurses even were in my hotel room with me for the first day out of the hospital. Dr. Valencia and his entire team took really good care of me and my brother and I highly recommend Affordable Baritrics to anyone who has to self-pay. I am home now, doing wonderful. I know I have lost weight, even thought I haven't weighed, because, my clothes are fitting looser and my rings fall off. I following my diet, juice, water, broth, jello and coffee at the recommended amounts. I have not had any pain whatsoever, or any problems with my hydration. I am walking about a mile two times a day with only minor back pain. (Before I couldn't walk 50 feet with my lower back killing me) I am not going to weigh until my 1 month anniversary. I know I will be blown away!
