So I am 1 week post op and feel good!! I feel I could actually go back to work tomorrow but don't tell my boss. Can't drive until I go for my post op visit end of this week or after christmas. All I have to say is - I need to come up with some other liquids- out of hospital for only 4 days and I am SO BORED of these liquids. I am actually dreaming of FOOD!!! Last night I had a dream about Thanksgiving dinner (I will spare you the yummy details) Anyone else have this problem????? Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I was banned on 12/12/05...I'm one week post op today! and I just wanted to let you know that I have been having dreams involving food too! I think it's the weirdest thing! I'm glad someone else is having that reaction too...I thought it was just me! I feel your pain with the liquids...I can't stand to drink one more chocolate protein shake...Good luck with everything! Have you been eating runny mashed potatos? Those are my favorite!!! And sugar free pudding too. I had surgery 12/12/05 and I too am missing food, but it's just in my head. Try to get creative with your blender- the banana peanut butter smoothie is fab! Heather

I've been eating the sugar free pudding, but I'm not sure about the runny mashed potatoes? I didn't think that kind of stuff was allowed until I got advanced to the mushie stage? How do you make the banana peanut butter smoothie? I can't have any "real food" yet! THanks for the suggestions! Amanda

Cheryl, Glad to hear that you are doing well at your week post op. I am so excited I cannot wait until I can also say that. My date is December 27th. I am getting a little worried and excited all in one. I have not had dreams of food, but then again things may change. Melissa

Cheryl, Glad to hear you're feeling good. I am not dreaming of food. I had an extended stay in the hospital and was on pureed hospital food for 4 days before coming home this past Sunday. Just wanted you to know that pureed foods are coming. My problem is getting in all of my liquids. Chauncine

I have that issue too Cheryl. I don't so much dream about food as crave things, I didn't even like before surgery. It is all very strange. Each day I is better, but I still struggle just to get the vitamins, etc. in. I feel like I am full all the time. I guess that is the idea

Patty- Dreams stopped but the Craving comes and goes but I wonder if its just the "old habits" coming back ( but I can't eat the foods yet!) I walk around the house and stare at the foods I can't have. What I would do for just a bagel with cream cheese!! Vitamins, protein intake and fluid intake are difficult to get in- usually full. I guess that is the whole Idea as you say!
