had my surgery on the 12th
Yes, I had my surgery on Monday, the 12th and came home on Wednesday the 14th. Things went extremely well for me. Got wheeled into surgery around 7:15 and was in my room by noon. I was not in a lot of pain but did experience a lot of gas pain. Everytime the nurse would come by and question me about the pain pump and if I was using it, I thought oh let me push that button. I hardly used it. Was up by 3 that afternoon wanting to use the restroom. I was told not to get up the first day but I felt so good I talked a aide into helping into the bathroom. From that point on they could not keep me down. I did experience a lot of nausea (I always do with surgery usually vomit my guts up) this time there was no vomiting just the nausea and thank goodness for Reglan. Was up walking the halls on Tuesday just doing great. Came home on Wednesday and was so glad to get back to my own bed. Have felt very good except for being tired. This was my second surgery in less than a month. I ended up having sugery for a huge absess in November which postponed my original date. So I guess from having surgery twice in a month I am doing wonderful.
I am drinking my ounce every 30 minutes. Last night I did fix dinner for the family and it was hard. I am one of those that tastes everything. I had to keep telling myself no you can't do that. It was a bad habit and one I will have to watch. At one point I had a fork to my mouth.
Plan to get a little Christmas shopping done today, hoping hubby will take me to Walmart so I get a couple of things. Thank goodness my kids are old enough not to believe in Santa so I plan to get some $$$ and wrap up a bunch of $5.00 and $10.00 dollar bills. I do plan to get them an item or two. It won't be a big Christmas but it is not like they are lacking for anything.
Well, I think I am going to get in the shower and get my day started.
Take care to all.

Lee Ann,
I am really doing great, my neighbor just stopped by and was blown away at how I looked and what I am doing. I am not doing anything that I should not be doing.
I can't say that it was totally painless but it was not bad. I am terrified of shots and I had to have shots daily in my stomach and it was no problem. The drain tube removal was over before I even knew what what happening. These were things I was scared about, heard to many stories.
I really think having a positive attitude really helps. I have had a few surgeries in my life and everytime I go in feeling positive and I come out feeling positive. Your mind plays a big part in how you heal.
Stay positive and it will be ok.
Remember to walk, walk, walk, that is so very important. It may hurt but the sooner you do it the faster you will be moving.
Good luck with your journey.
