Surgery Scheduled!
Hello everyone!
This is my first time posting. I have enjoyed reading and learning while I waited to schedule my surgery date. I had intentions on having the surgery in April or May of next year, after the state tests. Then, I found out that I was approved on Monday, December 12, 2005 and scheduled my surgery for December 22, 2005! I have so many appointments before then, but the best thing is that the surgery will occur while I am on Christmas break from school (I am a teacher) and I hope to be back with the other teachers on January 4th. So, my thing now is getting right mentally for a surgery in December when I was thinking that it would be in April or May. My husband is supportive and very excited for me. I find that I am so cheerful since I have set the date. I realize that my first weeks and/or months may be rough, but I know that it will all be worth it in the end.
If you have any suggestions or words of wisdom for me, I would gladly appreciate it.

Congratulations It's a great feelig once you ianlly have a date. You are on your way to the losing side! Can't wait for you to join us. YOu will do great just listen to your dr and take it easy. Remember sip, sip, sip, and walk lots. It sounds simple I knwo but being post op now I realise how it's not as easy as it sounds. You will do great though.
Hi. I know exactly how you feel. I was planning on having surgery in Feb of next year. Then I got a call from the Dr.'s office informing me that if I want to be guarenteed that Medicare will cover it I have to have surgery by the end of the year, so I am now scheduled for the 29th. I got the call at about 8:30 in the morning and I am not a morning person so I was not a happy camper. I'm just pretending that I'm still going in Feb until I get back from Christmas in Philadelphia on the 28th. Hope everything goes well for ya.

That is a good idea! Maybe I should just pretend that I am getting it in April or May and try not to think about it as much. Ill try it, but I dont think that my subconsious mind will allow that to happen. I dream about it more now than ever.
So, we will be about a week apart in our surgeries. I know that everything will go fine for you and thanks for your kind words.
