Dec 5th Post op & doing great!
Wow, I made it through to the other side! My surgery was on Monday (12/5) and I was home by Wednesday afternoon. I ended up having the laparoscopic RNY and everything has been great. I'm still taking some pain meds today but I'm down to a tsp every 5-6 hours now instead of 2 tsps, so I think that's good. I don't want to be dependent on it but I don't want to be in pain either. It is SO hard to get my meals in. I have no hunger at all, and I'm full from broth even after an ounce. I'm trying to focus on protein since I know how important that is. I'm also making sure to take my vitamins. I ended up with 6 tiny incisions, the longest having 4 staples, and the shortest having only 1 staple. I already have an appointment on the 15th to get my staples out. I have no idea how much I've lost so far but I do know I weighed myself the night before surgery, and was down 13 pounds just in the pre-op week of my liquid diet. I have a follow up with my regular doctor on Tuesday, so I will get the weight results then. I'm not going to weigh myself daily. I do know that I only plan to lose from here!!! It's so exciting to be on my way to healthy. Yay!
