Dec Post Op's...

Had my surgery on Monday, Dec 5th and wound up staying in the hospital until Friday, Dec 9th due to some unforseen complications. As per the surgeon, everything went well... as per me....I will be honest, I have had everything that could possible happen..happen...from reaction to anestesia..to allergic to morphine, to nausea, to sore ( only to be expected). I have been home now ONE day..it feels so good to be in my own bed.. My mother drove over 250 miles to assist hubby with the kids and with me so things could go smoother and hubby could return to work. I feel like I will get stronger with each passing day. I am tolerating the protein liquid diet but become nauseated at the smell of anything...cooking, perfume..you name it. My words of wisdom to any preop folk..make sure you have a good and strong support system..This is NOT an easy task to take on. Have everything you need ready and available at home and make sure that you are up to life changing changes that will occur. Follow your surgeons advice. Be prepared for things that MAY happen...And allow people to help and assist you during this time as you can return the favor when its their time. God Bless in your upcoming endevour.
