I began the 10 day pre-op liquid diet tomorrow
I need your prayers to start now. I did not know until I met with Dr. Dyer that I would be on a 10 day liquid diet. I am trying to get the surgery laproscpically. I pray that I can. I am so happy to see the postings from individuals two days after the surgery. I am already trying to calm my family down. I think they are more afraid than I am. Do not get me wrong, I have fears, but after praying on it, I have more hope than fear. I read what you all write and it helps also to keep me positive. I look forward to coming home from the hospital and telling you all about my experience. Thank you to you all take time to do that. It is very important to me and everyone else that has a hard time making the decision to have the surgery to here your updates. I love reading the big loser updates. They are very inspirational and helped me with my decision. Again Thank you all.
Father God in the name of Jesus I pray for Sandra that you will give her peace as she goes through the final stretch of this process.Lord, I pray that you will also help her family as they are concerned about her health. Lord I thank you that she has a support system already set up . I thank you that you will be in the operating room and in the waiting room fulfilling your many roles - giving wisdom to the surgeon, peace and encouragement to the patient and patience to the family. May her recovery be quick and uneventful. Heal her Lord. In Jesus name,Amen.
I hope all goes well for you and I wholeheartedly believe that as you put your faith in Christ He can do all things but fail.
Be Blessed,
Vickie
This message is from Stacey's husband. Stacey just had her surgery on December 6th and is already home!! She also went through the 10-day liquid diet and lost 7 lbs! Our doctor said that was the average expected lost, but needed a minimum of at least 4 lbs to qualify for the surgery.
Stacey did overall fairly well during the surgery. As with any surgery, there will always be a few little problems. She passed her "Stomach Leak Test" yesterday and after holding liquids down she was able to go home.
There are a few hard parts she says I will have to experience myself (I'm having my surgery January 4th). But, she stayed strong during the surgery, and recovery, and is now home resting fine.
Our advice for what we've experience with the 10-day pre-op diet has been to totally stick with it.
I am happy to hear that your wife is doing well. Did she have the lap band or gastro by pass. I have every intention of doing this correctly. I woke up this morning and began to drink Isopure as I cooked my son bacon and eggs. It wasn't hard because I thought about the surgery as I smelled the food cook. Dr. Dyer told me if I was successful with this I would have a greater chance of getting the surgery done laproscopically. That is my motivator ( a quicker recovery). Are you nervous about your surgery coming up? How nervous was your wife before the surgery? I wish you both the best.
