surgery date the 12th

My surgery is comming fast and I am nervous. i have not been able to sleep for the past 3 nights. I keep thinking about the diet and everything else. I quess I have the pre surgery nerves. I know everything will be fine. I have my endoscopy on tuesday and my final per-op appoinment on wednesday. Then off to surgery. Any last minute advice for me? Thanks Brenda

Hi Brenda I'm have the RNY on the same day. A real head banger huh? I've been keeping busy working like crazy. I even worked today, Sunday. Guess that's how I'm handling it. I've got my pre-op stuff for two days next Tu-Wed. Then work again until next Sunday. As you know, we have to clear our system out for the big day. Life is all about the choices we make. Take comfort in the fact that you're making a choice to help yourself. I try to think that the whole surgery thing will be over in the blink of an eye and then it's all recovery. That won't be easy but being realistic about it helps me prepare to be strong. Look at all the thousands of people who are post op on this site. They all made it, each with their own story and unique way of dealing with it but the point is, they made it through. You and I will too. Good luck and we'll compare notes on the other side! carbon

Hi Brenda~ I am having my surgery that day too! I am nervous too. But, mostly I am excited. I hope that you can get some rest. Remember, you are doing this to be healthy!! Blessings~ Becky

I am having my surgery Tuesday and I am not nervous. I was nervous waiting on insurance approval wondering if I was doing the right thing,I discovered that looking at the before and after pictures made me feel much better and got me very excited about it.
