Stalls, Plateaus, Depression

Has anyone else had such slow weight loss? I eat right, I go to the fitness center for two hours at least three times a week, and I have been on a plateau since June 1. Before that I had two stalls lasting two to three weeks each. Starting at 304, I have only lost about 83 lb. I feel like a real failure now... Pat

I am 61. I don't know how old you are but, my weighht is also slower. I am FIFTEEN months out and have FINALLY lost 100 pounds so, you have lost over 80 since December, I call that EXCELLENT!!! There are slower loosers and faster loosers....... you seem pretty fast compared to ME. kathy

I am 56. I know that I am just being silly, but the feelings keep coming around. I AM happy about my loss so far, but it IS hard to keep from comparing oneself with others... Thank you for your kind words. Pat

Thank you, Sharon. I am just going to keep trying. I know in my head that I am losing fine; it's just hard for it to be so seemingly slow... The potato thing is a WOW kind of comparison! Pat

I feel your pain sweetie 7 months 97lbs as of yesterday. I work out 4-5 times a week when I am extremely bored, which is all the time, 6 days a week and I feel like this weight is coming off extremely slow as well. I barely can eat and when I do its Protein Protein Protein! I guess we just have to hang in there. After all without this surgery I may have gained 97lbs by now.

Your story is my story so I guess we aren't all that odd. I had my surgery Oct 9, 05 and have lost 94 pounds. I haven't lost any weight since June. I feel a lot better knowing someone else is with me. I did take a look at my pre-op picture and feel a little better. What to do, what to do?
