Hey everyone, i , like everyone else am 6 monsth post op, and just these past 3 weeks i have been having really really BAD dizzy spells, almost to the point to where i can't even move or talk during them, then i get really sick at my stomach, then it passes.. just like nothing has happened.. does anyone else have this problem?? should i run to the doctor or should i consider this as part of having this surgery?? i am really worried the episodes are getting more frequent. thanks for any help that anyone may have. I get them pretty often, but not to the point they make me sick to my stomach..it just takes me a moment after I stand up, sometimes to feel ok..then I'll go get something to drink..I think it happens either when I'm hungry or dehydrated..oh, and when it's that time of the month, it seems to be worse.. I haven't concidered my spells to be much concern for me..I use to get this way before I got fat.

A few months ago I was having them, I uped my water and they went away. Now I have them again because I am afraid to eat. Once I get going it is hard for me to stop at the correct amoumt. So my question is: Are you getting in enough water and food?

I get them sometimes also. Yesterday was a bad day. I notice I had enough water but I didn't have enough food. I was still full from the 4th and was just drinking water. When I ate I felt better

I get them also when I stand up. I feel like I might pass out then it fizzles out and I'm fine. Never sick to my stomach though.. I don't know what that might be from but could be dehydration as was mentioned before...

i agree with the water.. make sure that you are getting it all in. also make sure that you are getting in enough protein and also have your iron checked. low iron (anemia) definitely causes dizzy spells! dee

I experienced the same thing. Everytime I sit up from a lying position or stand up abrupty, I get very dizzy, the whole room goes black for a second and I feel like I'm going to throw up. IT passes ina about 1 minute, if I sit real still. I asked my doctor about this, and he said it has to do with my blood pressure and my body getting used to losing so much weight so rapidly. Noithing to worry about, just need to remember to get up slowly. He also confirmed that dehydration and low blood sugar can also make this worse. One of the things he asked me was if I was getting some sort of sugar in my diet. I added gatorade to my diet and I have these episodes much less often.
