Due to a complication a month after my surgery I have not been released to excercise yet; However, I think that this month I will finally get the go ahead to start doing more than just walk. What kind of excercises do all of you do? Are there any limitations to what you can do?

No limitations right now. In the beginning.. Doc only said to watch the ab crunches.. that's about it. I now work out at a gym because it helps me focus.. I'm the person who can't get motivated at home to workout regardless of the videos and other workout paraphernalia strewn all about.. hehe. I usually do step classes and pump it up classes because you work your mind out trying to remember all the moves and then you say to yourself afterwords.. wow I can't believe I just worked out for the last hour. I like that!! I also do weight training because I like that power feelings from that. I've also recently taken to jogging.. which is pretty empowering because there was no way I could ever do that before. When picking out exercise.. I usually go for whatever makes me feel best.. I don't do anything that I don't like (bike shtuff) and I always switch it up and keep it fresh. Hope this helps.. April R 264/254/177/140esch

I walked up until a month ago when I joined the gym. I do a variety of things, but usually stick to what burns the most calories. I especially love the arc total body trainer. It's like an eliptical machine, but slightly different to give you a total body workout. Best wishes to you! Sherry 259/173.5/130

I go to Curves 3 x a week and try to make it a good workout and concentrate on the stretching at the end as it feels so good. I also walk 4 to 5 times a week and try to do 4 miles. I ride my bike and swim when I can. Do what you enjoy but don't be afraid to try things that you didn't before because now that you have lost all that weight, you might find you enjoy things you didn't before. I also have a bunch of videos at home and enjoy the am/pm yoga and am/pm stretching ones and the Power workouts. Find what you like and you'll stick with it. Diona

Hi Babs! Beginning in mid-February, I started to work out at a local college fitness center. At first I couldn't do much, but now I can do 30-35 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the exercise bike, all the weight circuit machines with weights ranging from 25 to 110 lbs., plus some free weight work. This lasts for about two hours three to four days a week! I am actually beginning to enjoy it! Cardio is good for the heart; weight training is good for building strong muscles, but start with light weights and build up. I have no limitations at all. HUGS!
