6 months - and need help with food
My nutritionist told me to average about 1200 - 1500 calories a day (I'm a 5'11" woman) at this point. Its not dropping off like it was early on, but about 2 lbs a week. I've lost almost 120 lbs and my surgery was Dec. 7. (about 50 more to go) Anyway, your 1100 is in line with what she told me. She said we need energy to burn more energy. We don't wnat to be in a diet mode or it defeats the whole purpose.
You're doing great!!!
Linda,
My post is a little late, but thought I would share anyway. I work a really weird schedule, so my eating habbits I am sure are not the best. My 6month aniversary is on the 27th of this month. I started out at 353lbs. I am now down to 239lbs. Leaving me 19lbs to my next personal goal and 49lbs to my surgeon goal of 180. (hope I did the math right)
Normally, when I wake up in the morning I have coffee and protein powder. When I get to work, (I work as a cook at VA Tech) I have two slices of bacon, wait a while have one egg, then at break time I have half a bagel w/ some cream cheese.
At lunch time, I eat most times a hamburger patty w/ cheese. (no bread)
For dinner I normally eat what ever my family eats (just smaller quanities).
For snack I normally eat one cracker barrel chese square, and a carb freedom or I will have a dannon 4oz contanier of yougrt. I also like the Jacks Links beef jerkey.
I must admit I am not always the best, I have chips, popcorn, things like that. I personally think (my opinion) I can have anything in moderation.
Melissa
Late post here also - but here you go!
B: 4 oz. Unjury Protein shake
L: small can tuna and one egg white with lite mayo
S: greek yogurt/flax or a bit of popcorn (shhhh!)
D: baked/grilled fish or chicken - about 3 - 3.5 oz. and a few greens
S: Yogurt or a little fruit
I stay between 700 and 1000 calories on most days. Sometimes a bit less- and on rare occasions a little more. Protein intake is 50-60 gr per day. There was a time when I was consistently eating about 1200 cals a day and for me that was too much. I cut it back which sucked for about a day then I fell right into the routine. That helped me to start losing more consistently. I also faithfully journal my food intake on a spreadsheet.
Hope it helps!
linda, i had my surgery on 12/06/05 i have lost 132 lbs. but unlike you i am still only able to take in soups and small fruit cups no meat ,poultry ,or fish. hey it's o.k i am used to it now. my blood work is fine and i have lots of energy, so i guess everybody system is different. i have only tried salad twice, the first time ok. the next time two days later sick right away, try to figure that out. but that happens to me often, one day something goes down fine, the next day sick as a dog on the same food. it sounds like your doing great, so just stick with what you can eat and if your blood work stays good then try to go with the flow. i wish you good luck with your weight loss your doing just great keep it up.
