Start @ 315#s
Hello! I'm a Feb. loser who's curious to know how those of you (the ladies of course) who started at 315 have been doing? I just kind of want to know what to expect at 6 months. I also have a couple of other questions:
Do you exercise?
What do you do for exercise?
How long & how many times a week?
How much water are you drinking?
Any odd changes that have occurred since surgery?
What's your best WOW moment so far?
Thanks in advance for any *****ply.
Elisa
I started at about 311. Lost 7 lb. before surgery and was at about 304 then. I am 5.5 months out and have lost nearly 80 lb. total. I have had three stalls so far, when I didn't lose weight for about 3 weeks each time.
I exercise at least three days a week for about two hours. I usually do 30 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the exercise bike, and all the weight machines. I also do extra free weights for my upper arms.
I try to get in at least 64 oz. of fluids through water, kool-aide, and SF popsicles.
I think my best wow moment has been fitting into an 18-20 for the first time since I can remember!

Hi Elisa
My highest weight that I know of was 315. That is when I flat out refused to get on the scale and take my life back. The day of surgery I weighed 279. I went yesterday for my 6 month and weighed in at 205. Just can't get to that 199. But I will get there.
I don't exercise. I do move around a lot now more than I have in decades. I have had 4 hip replacements and two knee replacements. I have missed so much of the world. I won't exercise. I only have a few hours every day that I can deal with the bone pain. So I went to the mall and walked in it for the first time since the early 90s. Thats is my exercise doing things I haven't done in years. Sure I come home hurting and go to bed but I am moving.
I drink a lot of water and a ton of decaf tea brewed with mint and use a sweetner.
Odd changes?? Sagging thighs, bat wings, chicken neck. Was so used to my skin being stretched to the max now its loose every where. Yes I would get PS but I can't pay for it so I am stuck like Chuck.
I have had a lot of wow moments. I thought the best was to find I could fit in the bolted chairs at Popeyes. Waiting on my grandson to order. But my biggest wow came from the Dec babies. When the changed my photo every one talked about they could not believe it was me. I looked at the picture and couldn't believe it was me. They'll tell you when I went to Walmart I couldn't believe that was me on their security cam.
Hope this helps. So now I don't have to post my 6 months its all here. Oh my BP yesterday was 120/62. Another medicine bites the dust!!!!!
HI, my top weight was 365, by the time I got into the bariatric program I was 325 and the day of my surgery I was 305. I am 219 and wearing a 16-18 now (after 5X).
I go to a pool program at the "Y" five days a week for an hour. It is called rusty hinges if that gives you any idea of the pace.
Drinking water is hard to get it all in, but I definately do better when I manage to get 64 oz. plus.
I too have the huge flappy bat wings, lots of skin on my thighs, belly, neck, etc. It is to be expected and a small price to pay.
Odd changes...many. My balance seems to be off and I really have to concentrate to walk correctly.
I had a couple of WOW moments, the first was when the manager at Catherines told me she didn't have a bra small enough to fit me and that I had outgrown them. The second one happened yesterday when I tried to shop for the first time in a "regular" store and just got so totally overwhelmed that I went home empty handed.
You and I had the same problem at Catherines. I was in there yesterday shopping with my mom. Now all these years of HAVING to shop there I know I have seen 14, 16, and 18s in there. Yesterday nothing. They had one red bra left on display and I thought that maybe I could wear it. The sales lady said that was the only one left and it had been up too long to sell it.
When I was in Dillards with another friend I kept looking in the Misses section after I had walked through the WOMENS. The sizes only came to 16s. I kept looking for an 18 or 20. Nothing. I was too ashame to go try the 16 on so afraid it would be way too small. That is an old fear we need to get rid of. Hearing people in the back ground saying things like "I know she doesn't think she can wear that" All of my clothes are too large now and I am really afraid to go shopping for my self. Still so afraid things won't fit.
D.S. thank you for your reply. Congratulations on your loss, I think that's awesome! Water is definitely something I struggle with as well. I printed a calendar to keep track of my water intake because it's so important, especially during the summer when dehydration is common where I'm from. I can't wait to get to a size 16, hopefully soon. I wish you the best and keep up the great work.
