B1,IRON and PROTEIN DEFICIENCIES!!!
This was certainly not good new, especially since they took 2 weeks to tell me and my insurance has changed since then and is not nearly as good. I was not taking ANY iron because 3 yrs menopausal the NUTR. said I did not need it WRONG!!! No one local does B1 shots, everyone does B12 but I don't need it. I even tried to get it sent to the pharmacy and do my own injections, but insurance will not pay for that, and every pharmacy I contacted said they do not use it and I would have to take the entire box of 25 vials, over $250!! So I must go back to my surgeon 1 1/2 hr drive to get the shot. I got a great book about nutrition at the half price book store. THE FOOD DOCTOR. So, now I am eating things like brown rice, fresh spinich with wheat germ, cashews and sunflower seeds and 4 slices mandarin orange. I also got flaxseed and Quinoa which are good, and I never heard of let alone thought of eating it.
Even though I have lost 93 lbs and have gone from size 32 to loose 22 pants, the loose skin and deficiencies are getting me down. I feel fat for the first time since before my surgery. I hope it will get better. PS I graduate college this week and need a job, have put in 25 applictions and only 2 interviews. Had to turn down a job I liked last week due to expensive medical insurance costs.
Pam,
Congrats to you for the weight loss and about graduating college. That is awesome. I was wondering if your surgeon would let you take B1 and B12 pills. You can get them at any pharmacy. I hate that you have to drive all that way just to get injections. I hope everything works out for you.

I looked on ebay. You can get injectible b1 and b12 on there. Here is a link to an auction for B1.

Hope this helps. I had my blood drawn Thursday, and I am anxious to get the results to see if everything is as it should be.
