Hi Kimber, If you don't mind the travel there are 2 doctors in Wilson. Dr. Thurman and Dr. Caldwell. He has no long waiting list and can probably get from first appt. to surgery within a month to a month and a half. That's how quick they are. Call them as soon as possible.

Another idea is to consume 3-4 papaya enzyme tablets after eating animal products like meat. It helps to break it down in our pouches. I've always taken papaya enzyme even before WLS and have found it very soothing and also less gas! They taste great too! Sandy

Try some of the Dr's in Winston Salem, I know it is quite a drive. Don't give up--just keep checking into new Dr's.

Biotin has helped me a lot. Took a few weeks, but I have noticed it has slowed down greatly. Huggs, Ruth

It is hard to find a hospital that handles patients over 400 lbs. The equipment is not built for larger than that. Most surgeons will do the surgery, it's just finding a hospital that has the larger bariatric equipment. Dr. Enochs uses Rex so that puts him out. The fastest way to do the checking is to first go through the hospitals and find the ones that have the larger equipment. That will save you some time and trouble. After that locating a doctor that uses that facility and does the WLS will be easy. I know there are several doctors in Fayetteville that do the surgery but I'm not sure if Cape Fear or Rainey Smith Hospitals have the equipment. You will find what you need, it will just take you some time to do it.
