Just arrived in NC
Hi Everyone
Just an update to let you know that I just arrived last night in NC from Okinawa, Japan. Whew 30 hours in travel time wore my butt out. I go to my doctor this morning, she has been my doctor for many years. She is going to write my referral letter to the surgeon. I then go to see my surgeon next week in Fayetteville. Is there anyone out there that is going to attend the Education Seminar with Village Associates next week in Fayetteville. If so let me know and maybe we can meet. I am so excited, my WLS journey is really in motion now. I will keep everyone updated as things progress in the next two weeks, hopefully I will know something soon.....I just pray that Tricare approves me quickly!!
Thanks again for all that you have written on this board, it has given me so much hope and education about this procedure!!

Ruth, That's such a cute story! I am so happy for you and smiled as I read it. Congratulations....there's lots more great wow moments to come for you! My stall broke, too. I was at 280 yesterday (we were both stuck at 285 for what felt like eternity). Till the next wow moment....smiles & hugs, Laura
Welcome Back!! Just to let you know that I had my surgery with Dr. Classen at Village Surgical and he is very professional. The seminar is really a great eye opener. You will find out about the pros and cons of the surgery and both Dr.Classen and Dr. Davidson will be there to answer and explain pretty much everything. Good Luck! Contact me if you need any other questions answered.
Stephanie...
This was my post on the Texas board.. but no one really replied... Anything you can help with would be soooo much of a blessing! Thanks:
Hello to all of you! I currently live in Orlando, Fl, but may be moving to TX in about a month and a half. We would be moving to Fort Worth/Westlake area. I have already had my RNY (last month) and am doing really well with it. (I'm down about 40 lbs). Anyways.. I have a couple of questions....
Does anyone live in that area that can tell me a little bit about what I'm about to get into?
Does anyone work for Charter in that area? I'm pretty good with computers and work for a Cable company here now.
Can anyone give me some advice on anything really (apartments, areas to avoid, Doctors in the area, etc.)
I'm just trying to get a feel for things.
Thanks so much!
Amy
Ruth Ann,
I hope you're feeling better! The couple times I have had something get stuck I started to feel a lot better after it came up. Try taking a couple of Tums to see if that settles your stomach. My surgeon has us take Tums for the first 6-8 weeks, before we switch to calcium citrate. We get some benefit from the calcium and the Tums also sooth the pouch.
