Wow Story
Hi. I just had to share this with people that could understand.
To begin with I need to tell you that I am a manager at Chili's Grill and Bar and my surgery was Dec. 5th, 2005. About two weeks before I went out on leave to have surgery, I hired a new employee to work in the kitchen. On my last day before my surgery, he gave me hug, wished me well, and thanked me for giving him the job. Three days before I was originally supposed to go back to work, I suffered a major complication... spent another 2 months at home on bed rest so I was out of my store for over three months.
Now, I've been back to work now for a while and I've lost 80 lbs. Ever since I came back, this new employee that I hired has been very reserved. Last night as I was in the office counting money, he came in the office and closed the door. I thought, here it comes, he's going to quit... So he says, " Barbara, when you came back to work last month, I thought you were another new manager. I didn't realize until tonight when I was talking to the guys, that you are the same person that hired me. I had heard that you were back in the hospital and on life support. I just assumed you'd passed. All this time, I thought you were someone else. I just can't believe it. Everything about you is different from your size to your personality. You're a totally different person."
I must hear people telling me everyday how different I look, how good I look, etc... But, this really stopped me and made me think about how much WLS has changed my life- for the better.
Thanks for letting me share.
