Hello December 2005 WLS-ers: Just wondering: anyone out there still experiencing hair loss? Mine seems to be getting worse, not better. No bald spots yet, but I'm wondering if that's where I'm headed.... LOL! --Cantweightanymore

Yes, I am still having hair loss..mine also seems to be worse. I got my hair cut shorter and in layers, so no one can really tell, unless I show them, but it still bothers me alot. I cannot wear my hair pulled back anymore which I like to do. My surgeon said it should get better by 6 months, which is coming up soon so I sure hope so. Lynn

Thank the Lord, mine has nearly stopped. I think the hair loss was because of my limited food intake..I'm eating pretty much these days, everything I want except sugar.. compared to what I was eating just a month ago when I was going thru a weight loss stall. I'm taking in about 1000 cal a day now maybe more somedays and my weight is melting off and my hair is thick and shiney!.. I think I was in starvation mode. I sure feel better, too!!!

I am still losing my hair, but it is not as bad as it was a month ago. I know that one day it will stop so I am not really concerned. I just get upset when my hair does not want to do anything.

((((hugs)))) I know that the hair loss thing is a pain. I have kept my hair in extentions the whole time since surgery and the short time I wore a wig I didn't really notice. I am about to take my extensions out so we shall see how bad it is. Hoping it gets better.

Yes, I still have a covered drain after every shampoo, and hair on my pillow as well. I understand the period of 3-8 months is when and then should improve. I hope so, since I can really tell the difference. Thankfully, I had a lot of hair, so you can't tell unless you remember my old hair. Taking Biotin and Zinc and protein and water, but I guess this is just a part of it all. Carol

I am with you! This morning I thought a huge bug was in the shower with me but when I looked down it was 1X1 inch hair ball! I had thick hair to begin with but I can see through to my scalp.

Thanks to all of you *****plied. Now I know I'm not the only one still dealing with this. Hopefuly as we hit the 6-month mark, this part of the WLS will subside. My doc said that some people even have hair grow back as curly, which would be awesome for me since my hair is fine, thin and straight.

This morning was the first time that chunks of hair was coming out as I was combing. My hair was always weak and breaking off but now its coming out in strands. Up until this point I was doing fine, my hair actually was growing but now its coming out. My co-worker came up to me and said "Oh, you got your hair cut!" I said, "No, its just coming out on its own." I hope that it stops soon. JaNae
