5 month update

I am almost 5 months post-op. Actually tomorrow it will be 5 months. I have lost 115 pounds in that time. I went from a BMI of 70.2 ( I think) to 50.4. I can not believe how much I have improved in such a short time. I have posted a more indepth update in my profile, if anyone is interested. You are doing so great. I think all of the Dec babies are doing fine. It doesn't matter if we lost 500 or 5. The thing is we are all loosing at our own bodys pace. I never thought that I would see the day that I could walk short distances without my cane. To all of us lets keep it up. And HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to everyone

I think you are right. the amount of pounds lost is not important it is the effort behind the weight loss. Everyone is doing great. I think it is great that you can walk without your cane. I never had one, but probably should have. Take care Erin

Congrats, that is wonderful. It has been such an amazing ride, I am sure you agree. I was 5 months post-up May 5, and have loss 100lbs. What are you eating now? I am just curious? Sometimes I feel like I am eating stuff I shouldn't be. Good job!!!!!! Lynn

At this point, I eat about 4 times a day. I usually get in about 60 grams of protein a day. I eat no more than 1/2 cup of food at a time. I never eat sugar. I am so careful with that. I have eaten a few things that had more fat than I have been told to eat, but very rarely. Food really does not taste good to me. I like imitation crab and that is about it. Eating is such a hard thing for me. I would rather not eat at this point. I do try things and sometimes wonder if it is ok for me to eat, but I follow what my nut said to me as close as I can. I just want this to work for me. I am scared that I may fail and that keeps me eating what I think I should eat. I can not really give you a typical day because sometimes I eat the same thing all day. Sometimes I don't. I never feel I need more that 1/2 a cup at a time so I never try more than that.
