I need a Buddy
Hi Everyone,
I had surgery on 12/28/05 & I need a few of good buddies. I have found myself slipping back into old habits, I fgure if I had someone to email & talk to, it would keep me motivated. I am a really good listener so it would reciprocated. So far I have lost 68lbs with 108 to go. So if anyone wants a buddy, give me a holler.
Peace, Love & Happiness
Toni
Hi Toni
We are all buddies on this list and no one here is perfect. If you read some of the older post we all go through something. Just have to get back on the horse when you fall off and keep riding. I guess you can tell I am a Texan. If you want or need to email me feel free to do so.
I think we are reaching the stage where the hunger is coming back. I know I am slipping on the water. I am a tea drinker. I know I am getting 64 oz a day but 50 of those oz are decaf tea. I tried the protein bars. Some taste good others ugh!!! Then I looked at the calories in a bar and said I would rather have food. Some people can make it off the bars others are like me and want real food. I still do the protein drink at 6:30 in the morning. I have to because if I don't it will be around 10 or 11 before I eat. Then I wouldn't stop. Any and everything I saw I ate. That was my biggest down fall. I went from 5 in the afternoon until 11 the next day before I would eat. I kept my body in a straving mode. So I do the shake, and it helps a lot. When I do eat around 9 I am not reaching for anything. Protein first, and cheese has become my snack food of choice but you have to watch the calories in that also
I had surgery the day before you and I need to be motivated too! I can eat more now and I realize that I am just eating too many carbs and think I can get away with it because it is a small quantity but these foods are calorie-dense. Consequently, my weight loss has slowed. It is true that we need to be vigilant and still be careful what we eat if we want to be successful. I went to my support group on Saturday and we talked about the success habits of weight loss surgery patients. There is a book and website dedicated to these ideas. Anyway, they say that you should eat 70% protein and 30% fruits and vegetables and whole grains. I have been eating more carbs than I should. I am trying to do better. It is easy to slip into old habits! I would be happy to email you or anybody that needs support like I do. Maybe we could post our daily menus and commit to them each day so we wouldn't be tempted. What do you all think?
Diana
Toni,
I've fallen into grazing out of stress. I've seen my weightloss slow dramatically. I went to support group meeting tonight and decided to get back on OH with my WLS buddies. Like the others have said, we have come to far to slip back into old habits.
I'm here to talk to if you need help...because I can use all the support I can get.

Good Morning Toni
I had surgery on 12/16/05, Boy is it easy to start slipping backward.. I'm still loosing but I sure can see the difference when I load up on the carbs. I don't really gain but my loss either stops or slows to a small crawl.. I have really good days and really really bad days. I still don't have the slow eating thing figured out.. I get 15 min for lunch and have to really get something down because it will be many hours later when I finally get to go home and even then its hurry up and take this kid there an that kid to the other place then dinner for everyone, not to mention my ill father in law who lives with us who I have become a mother to (still trying to figure that one out). there have been days when Not only do I not get to eat anything exceot my morning protein shake but I don't get time to drink either. So it would be nice to have someone to help out with asking the simple questions.. you know like, Have you ate today? have you taken time to make sure you are drinking? are yo taking care of you? So if ya want to Im here.. and Im willing...
(((HUGS)))
