Your right, it can't hurt but it was hard when my surgeon said that word "Anorexic"
I'm now keeping a chart on the computer of when I eat, how much and if I purge. I eat like a bird but never realized it before and I purge at least once a day but I do have my bad days and purge up to three times a day. The schedule is actaully helping me to see what I'm doing to myself.
I'm still waiting to hear from my PCP as my Surgeon said he was going to contact her and let her find me a psychologists. I did not want my PCP knowing about my problem but she is main care provider. I would like to get my own eating under control myself.
Ron, my husband thinks if I go back to work it will all go away. The assistant living that I worked the night shift needs someone from 5pm until 8pm and Ron said NO, he wants me home at nights. Crushed my heart

Is anyone else having this issue. I got down to 143 & a size 2. I now fluctuate between 148-150 - which is fine. I have no problem with that. The problem I'm having is two fold. I seem to be unable to stop snacking - 100% whole grain wheat thins - at least they are healthy? I guess there are worse things I could snack on. Secondly, even though I haven't gained any weight in the last five months I have gone from a 4 to a 8 in jeans? How can this be? I'm not working out less or doing anything different. Someone suggested maybe everthing is just moving around - but I don't see anyplace it's leaving to attach itself to my butt! Am I alone? Sorry it's been so long since I've posted - I've just been so busy. Daughter has been playing softball, doing competition cheerleading and swim team. Something always going on everyday besides just work.

Consider yourself hugged! Hang in there. Seeing a psychologist can never hurt anything, only help is what I say. Your family is here for you.

Don't sleep well at night and did not even eat dinner last night.
My bigger dog who is 25 pounds attacked my little 5 1/2 pound Yorkie last night. Off to the vets we went now this morning the poor thing is having a hard time walk on her left leg but don't seem to be in any pain so off to the vets we go at 7am. Always something, sigh.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through but I'm so glad that you felt like you could turn to all of us. We love you Sweetie and want to be here for you and help you in anyway that we can. I think that it was the best thing for you to do, talking to your surgeon, they know we deal with alot. I really hope you are considering what he said and seeing someone it just might help. Please know that you are in my prayers and I am here for you anytime you need me.

OK Donna, you admit that you know not eating supper is an unhealthy thing for you. I want to remind you that if you start getting low on protein again like right after surgery, you are going to start losing hair and muscle mass.
Do you think you could compromise and drink a protein drink? Like a ready-made Atkins shake or something easy like that? If solid food makes you feel like purging, perhaps a liquid drink like Atkins would go down and stay down OK. They are loaded in protein and taste fairly decent. The chocolate delight was my favorite and you easily get a four pack of them at wal-mart.
