Topic: RE: Appetite Suppressant - Question
Thank you Karen. Every day I keep saying to myself that I need to try harder. I keep saying tomorrow and tomorrow never gets here. I feel so depress sometimes but for some strange reason I have no self control and no will power. My husband doesn't think I eat a lot but it's probably the bad food choices that is not helping me. Keep up the good job. Hugs, Norma

Topic: RE: Expected Weight Loss?
I'm still struggling to reach my goal of 150. My last weigh-in was July 15th and I was at 178. So another 28 pounds still to go. I lose very slowly. 1-4 pounds per month. I don't count on losing any weight from future plastics, as the plastic surgeon here (Canada) has indicated he won't operate until I reach my perceived goal weight. I won't give up. I still follow a prescribed eating routine and a prescribed exercise routine. My upcoming vacation has me worried. I will be living with relatives for 3 weeks. I plan to rely heavily on protein shakes, if good food choices are not available. Set yourself a goal and keep plugging away at maintaining healthy eating, while elevating your exercise routines. The weight will continue to slide off. Many blessings, Karen G 294 / 178 / 150

Norma I am still struggling to lose weight, too. My last weigh-in was 178. I really want to get to 150. I still "diet". I maintain about a 1200 calorie per day routine and I use the fitday.com site to track both my intake and my exercise. It is helping. Although I only lose 1-4 pounds per month, at least I am still losing. Don't lose sight of your goals. Make everyday the "only" day. Plan what you are going to eat and plan your exercise routines. Otherwise, I totally agree in the protein first and lots of water. I drink 6 x 16 oz bottles of water each day. Best wishes Karen G

Hi Kristen, I started out at 295 priorto surgery.... For thr 1st 8months, I lost about 100-to 120 lbs... and kept if off. I just felelt I i was done losing. Kinda made me mad though, as I was still wanting to get down to my ultimate goal of 155... for at 5-11, that would be fairly thing for me. Well, in the last few months, and having been so sick latelym I have lost another 10-15 more lbs,,,, Now I'm just down to the last 9 lbs.... Not sure whether I will actually be able to get medicaid to pay for plastics, but I guess soon I will find out since I have been so sick lately. I really don't see me being approved for it, but even with the plastics, I only see me losing another 5-7 lbs I'd say just to give your body more time to continue to adjust, get back to excercising as much as possible, and going back to basics like back when you were first post-op... It worked for me... Maybe it will for you too. Good Luck, and keep the faith! Hugs, Susan

I started out at 265 and now weigh 143-146. My goal is 140. I expect to reach that with the panniculectomy in Sept. I achieved most of this weight loss in the first 6 months. jean

Topic: RE: When to weigh???
Hi Charlotte, I don't really know an answer for you since you work nights. I would continue to do what your doing and weigh when you wake up. I weigh when I wake up at 5:00am after I go to the potty and take off all my clothes. Good luck and I hope you find a good answer. Take care, Diana

Hi Kristin, I started out at 379 pounds. My weight keeps bouncing between 169 and 174. I have really been pushing my exercising this last few months. I want to be firmly in the 160's..the 150's would be great. I need to get down to 154 to have a normal bmi. I don't think that would happen without plastic surgery. I have a lot of loose skin. Nice to see you posting. I hope your husband is doing better. Take care, Diana

Topic: Expected Weight Loss?
Hey ladies! I, too, have been gone for quite a while. A move, husband's illness, new energy, etc. have kept me away. I have been searching through the posts to find "normal" weight loss for Dec. 2004 surgeries. I am beginning to wonder if I will lose anymore or am I done. Don't get me wrong I am happy with my total and my new size. I know a lot my "extra" weight is "extra" skin. How much have you lost? Kristin 410/214 ... Size 34/16W

MAXINE FOR MEN Men strike back! How many men does it take to open a beer? None.
