I agree with Michelle R on the fact that a lot of us slip up. Other reasons can cause gain weight also. Being pregnant and in my case I was on steroids for a while. I went from 155lbs to 170lbs and the last time I took steroids for a few weeks put the pounds on me and I'm around 200lbs. I also take LOTS of pills due to my liver problems and some of them can put the weight on but I can never take myself off these pills unless I want my liver to start acting up or worse fail.
I also think that we find we can eat more food the further out we get from our surgery dates and so we over indulge like in the passed
Maybe we should all start posting again and try and support each other. Try to get back on track.
It's nice hearing from you Brook. Your such a sweet young lady

Well, I have beed to the dietitian and got started on the plan she gave me. Nothing surprising, just back to basic. I have had some success over the past couple of weeks. Lost 10 lbs so far but I now slowed. I keep plugging away.

I too got down to a size 8 and now a size 12.... seems like I am slowly gaining. Might be the glass of wine I have a night but also might be the carbs.
I haven't been to the doc in 2 yrs- guess I need to go.
I am mad at myself beause I took it so seriously at first attending all the support groups and now this is the 1st time I have logged on in FOREVER.
Good Luck hope something works for you!

As long as I take my 12 pills a day and get blood work plus fallow up scopes on my throat and stomach I can live a long old life
I also mus****ch any changes in my health. Like blisters on my legs as I can retain water and then I must take my water pills. I get rashes really easly and that's due to my liver.
I must get permission from my Doctor before I take any over the counter meds.
Glad your doing better and best of luck on getting back on track.
Hugs... Donna

Brooke,
Thank you for posting.
We all can get back on track and lose the gained weight. It is like I have been preaching to my mobidly obese grand daughter. This is a life long commitment. When we slip and fall off the program and get back to old habits the weight will come back. Keeping the weight off and commiting to a life of good health is not any easier with the surgery. I know some will disagree with my statement but I really feel it is true. The surgery is a tool that will continue to work for us but the commitment must be there. For all of us who are struggling I really believe we can make a new commitment to live a healthy full life.
I hope we all start sharing more here. The good days, the bad days and the wild and crazy days too,
Luv,
Michelle R
Please keep in touch.

I hope you are doing okay. I gained 30 lbs in the last year and a half. Sounds like you are making good changes. I am doing the same thing and am trying to follow the guidelines the dietitian gave me. Protein first, then vegetables and complex carbs, then fruit last. I do well during the day but at night everything just goes out the window. I am meeting with my dietitian again on Oct 6th. I hope to at least have my old routine back.
God bless
Michelle R
My love to all of you. We seem to be struggling so I am sending big hugs and good karma to all of you.

Brooke, I feel your pain. I just had a baby 2 months ago. Before I got pregnant I gained 25lbs then I put on an add'l 44lbs. I went from 175 to 200 to 244. Right now I sit at 215lbs. I am BF my baby but I got to get a reality check. I want to eat all the time. I know that I need to start with the basics and exercise.
I want to hit my goal by New Year's, is it possible, yes but I gotta get motivated.
Let's start a weight loss/weigh in thread here so we can make ourselves accountable.
