My husband told me to explain if they call and you can take the bottle in and he can swear I was sick and taking it for sleeping. I still have the darn cold and it's really make me feel run down and tired. I have off the next three nights and am going to rest up. Donna

Hi Donna, I wouldn't worry about the Nyquil, like you said it is over the counter, and shouldn't be an issue... and besides, alcohol is legal to drink if you are ovr 21.... If anything were to come back on it, just tell them about your Nyquil use. I still don't think it will be an issue. I got hit on a drug/alcohol test about 11 years ago... I had taken a Lortab, and of course they got me on it. All I had to do was take the prescription bottle in with my name on it, and nothing more was ever said. And this was for a job at a hospital. Good Luck with Sears Hugs, Susan

Hello to you all from Monica, full time RVer and loving it. John and I have been busy, yet relaxed, and truly enjoying our new lifestyle, living in our RV and semi-traveling. We left New Hampshire in mid July and are currently staying in a wonderful RV park in East Lyme, CT. Aces High is a great RV park and we are really glad to be here. We go to the Rhode Island beaches often, spent 5 hours there yesterday and it was fabulous. We can even bring our dog, Diablo to the beach now and he has a fun time walking the beach and playing in the waves. He learned quickly not to drink the water and we bring plenty of good water for him to refresh himself with. We have fun. I am currently weighing in at 186lbs, a total loss so far of 144lbs. I am healthier, happier, sexier, and so thankful each day for Gastric Bypass surgery and the new life I have. No more asthma, diabetes in control (last A1c 5.6), great lipids, healthy iron, vit D, and no anemia. Less arthritis pain in the knees and so much more energy. I am scheduled for breast reduction, 2 hernia repairs, and a panni removal on Monday, Sept 25th at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA. The surgeries are insurance approved and covered. The approval process took a long time almost 8 weeks, but I got it. I am using Dr. Brooke and Leah Kenney for this plastic surgery and my WLS, Dr. Faillo for the hernia repair. I will keep you updated on my progress. Many new people on the board and I welcome you all and say hello to all the great people here who have been so helpful to me in my own journey. Monica 330/186/160-hopefully Healthier, happier, sexier, and thankful each day....I took back my life!

Thanks Susan, It started last weekend with a sore throat but nothing major. I noticed that sickness effects me harder since having my WLS. Maybe my Vit D being off is effecting how sick I am I took some Nyquil on Sunday and Monday lat week and now I'm worried as I took a pee test for Sears on Tuesday and what does NyQuil have in it? 10% alcohol. Add it up four times a day,. If I took it three, four times a day it might show up, right? The lady asked me if I was on any pills from the Doctors and I said NO, not even thinking about the over counter stuff. Donna

Oh Donna... I hope you feel better soon. I just got over it myself. The fisrt 2 days I felt really lousy, but then as the bug moved down to my lungs, I felt better, even though I was truely sicker. The doctor said I was bordering on pneumonia.... I know... leave it to me... After 2 rounds of antibiotics, and steroids, I am back to normal finally. As far as a change in how sick I get now vs before surgery.... I definitely got alot sicker before surgery... but pain meds work alot better since surgery... Feel better soon!!! Hugs, Susan

I have the flu and a sore throat. Since having my WLS I have not been this sick. I have NEVER felt this bad. Good news is that I'm still eating Sadly I MUST go to work tonight as I just started back with working but I will be taking some maskes with me so I don't spread it to my residents. Does anyone else notice a change in when they get sick that's it's worse then before WLS?? Donna

I don't have a lot of skin. I have some flab but nothing major. Since having my surgery I have had NO colds or flu and I started back to work and now I have a darn head cold that is knocking me into the dirt BIG TIME!! Then again having my Vit D down to 11 when it should be 30 above probably don't help matters any. Donna

Donna, I'm sorry to hear your insurance won't cover the ps. I was lucky enough to have mine covered with documentation of rashes and back pain. I did go to an out-of-network surgeon, so I will have some out of pocket, but it is totally worth it. Take care, Mary
