Topic: Happy Re-birthday all you 27ers
Greetings
One year ago I took a step that changed my life. Here is my before and after
Before
Had diabetes- avg blood sugar 250+,4 prescription meds
Asthma- Nebulizer,2 inhalers, 2 prescription meds- could not walk around walmart without stopping several times to catch my breath.
Sleep Apnea- cpap machine every night
Pain- back, knees, legs- had difficulty walking short distances and could not sleep due to constant pain.
Energy-none-coping with asthma and pain used it all up
depression- just had no interest in anything
After
Diabetes-no more meds-blood sugar now is under 70 most mornings, highest daily around 90
Asthma- 1 oral medicine dly. can walk and exercise without shortness of breath
Sleep Apnea-cured
Pain- gone except arthritis in shoulder and elbow due to injury I had years ago now catching up to me. LOL
Energy- more than I know what to do with
Depression-gone. I am more outgoing now.
What a bargain! A brand new life!
God Bless all you December crew

Topic: RE: One Year...Are you at your Desired Wt?
I wanted to be at 200 pounds lost at my one year anniversary or at the end of the year. I am not even close to that. I have lost about 171 to 174 pounds depending on the day. I know it could be more if I exercised. That is one area I hope to improve on in 2006.
As far as the eating goes, I find that I can eat a lot of "normal" foods. Wht amazes me is that I can stretch it out over longer periods of time than I could a year ago. For example, last Thursday or so I bought a regular size bag of M&Ms when I was out shopping. Anyways, I finished up the bag this today. A year ago the bag would have been emptied by the time I was out the store parking lot.
I am amazed at how much I am able to be conscious of what I am eating and what the aftereffects are. So, yes, even though I sometimes wish I could do this on my own, I am grateful for the opportunities the surgery has afforded me.

Topic: Memories -100 ago
Wow... Do you remember where you were 1 year ago? Not able to eat, with over 1,000 questions for others, as well as for OURSELVES!
Looks like we made it! It has not only been 1 year since we had surgery... but 1 year since the time we changed our lives forever!
Finally, I have hit -100 pounds, teetering between -100 and -103, still, and I haven't worked out yet! My boyfriend finally put up my TredClimber and I'll start my Bally's workout consistantly, when I return from Spain. I am sure that will kick me past -100 forever!
So, I had my 1 year Anniversary which was 12/20/05. My 1 year appointment is on Wednesday, 12/28, and I can only hope that I can stay -100, for that at least! I am sure my Doctor, Dr. Cahill, will be pleased, and his goal for me was -140... my personal goal was -100, or anything to put me is a size 16. I am in a solid size 18, and am EXTREMELY pleased with myself. I haven't had any health problems to speak of... not even a cold! I eat just fine, and haven't dumped for months!
Wow, what memories.... makes me want to cry!
But I wont! I'm not done yet! I feel wonderful, and am tearful to read how many of you have come so far... we all have!
No matter if we have lost, or made it to OUR goals or not... we have changed a part of ourselves, that can't return.
As long as we remember that we are not who we were, we can continue to be inspired to go forth in our healthy beginnings. Yes, it is the beginning, of ANOTHER year!
So, always remember where you have come from, never returning to that point, but striving to become what we should always be!
Ourselves, regardless... better, stronger... liter and healthier!!!!!

I pray your holiday was festive, restful and blessed.
Well, mines was, and now... I am off to Spain.
Hello December 04 Crew.... Happy Holiday to each of you!
Well, here I go again! I will be traveling on Thursday, 12/29 - 1/9/06, and asking the prayers of each of you... in my journey. In Spain, I'll be in Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla, which is South Spain. Near the tip of Sevilla, is North Africa, (Tangier), which is in Morocco. I'll be visiting there, as well, because I want to see the Rocks of Jerbulta! My return will land me in NYC/Manhattan, where I hope I still have shopping money!
Pray Gods blessings, and I'll be sure to return in peace, with pics!
Hope the food agrees with me....
Well, here I go again.... and will be in Paris/London/Amsterdam in February!
