Hi Brooke, In Ontario, there is no coverage for tummy tucks. I was able to get insurance coverage only for the breast reduction and my generous mother-in-law helped out with the cost of the tummy tuck. The total was $8,000. Thanks everyone for their well wishes. Nice to see some action on the Dec 2004 board. LOL Karen

Yeah I feel really content. You know Organic food is definately better for your than food with a lot of chemicals, or that is really processed. You still have to watch the calorie content though.. my organic blue chips have quite a few calories, so I have to eat them in moderation.

Hi!! Glad to hear from you. A friend of mine was telling me I should try organic food. I'm thinking of going that route myself. Sounds like your happy and healthy and that's a good thing Hugs Donna

Karen, It's great to hear that your plastic surgery went well. I bet you are glad to get the last drain out! Take it easy during your recovery - you should be fine going back to work on the 11th. Mary

Hi December WLS Team Mates ! I just thought I would drop by to update you all on my recent surgery. I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction on January 30th. Everything went perfectly. Not nearly as much discomfort as I anticipated... which is a good thing. LOL I'm only staying home till Monday, the 11th of February. I have a desk job, so I can still "take it easy" but get some work done. I am getting my last drain out tomorrow morning at 9:45 am. Cheers all, Karen G

So today when I weighed myself I weighed 177.8 ... that is the lowest I can ever remember weighing... ever A little background... I moved to Indiana at the beginning of this year (weighing 188) (Fort Wayne to be exact) and I love it. I've started a new job and I'm really getting my life in order. Before I worked at a restaurant, so it was a lot easier to graze all day on unhealthy foods. Also I spent a lot of time in McDonalds drive through... granted I was getting a happy meal instead of the supersized extra value meal, but still it was not a healthy rut to be in. Now, I don't go to fast food restaurants (maybe once every other week) and I don't graze all day! I only stock in my house food that is fairly nutricious (not sure if I spelled that right). People tell me it's easier for me because I don't have kids, but most of the stuff I have in my house my 7 year old cousin will eat and he is super picky. I'm making a lot of whole grain choices and organic. I get organic fruits and vegetables and all my breads and pastas are whole grain. It's a little expensive, but I guess it's working. I only get 97% lean hamburger which costs a litte more too, but it's worth it. I've been trying to exercise at least every other day for half an hour, but my iron is kind of low right now so as soon as I get that fixed I'm going to up it to 5/6 days a week. Other than being super anemic tired I feel good. My goal is to get my skin removed in August/September so we will see how that goes. Just an update on me... how are you all doing?? Here is the promised recipe.. .it's super easy and super yummy... 1 LB Hamburger (I use 97% lean) 1/2 packet Onion Soup Mix 2-3 Oz of 2% Velveeta Cheese Mix the hamburger and onion soup mix up really well together and then cut the cheese into chunks (I like a lot put how much ever you want) and mix it with the hamburger. Then put the mix in the crock pot until the meat is cooked (like an hour to an hour and a half on high) stir it some so the meat on the outside doesn't cook faster than the meat in the middle. I like to serve it on little buns (about the size of white castle) my walmart usually has "whoops we overbaked" buns that are the perfect size for cheap. It's also good on bread or just plain or mixed with pasta like hamburger helper.
