It seems great though... it gets rave reviews.
Did you try it? What do you think?
This week... well the last three days I guess.. has been ... okay. Tuesday I did well having just under 1500 calories and 71 grams of protein. I also spent about an hour at the gym alternating weights and cardio.
Wednesday... not so good... my calories were pretty high... I did still go to the gym though ... I did 30 minutes of cardio.. .but I forgot my headphones so I bored myself out.
Today I did good with food having about 1100 calories, but only about 40 grams of protein. I did my dance pad for about half an hour and according to it's calorie counter I burned 278 calories! Go me...
Something that was different about this week, for me, is that when I had a bad day on Wednesday that didn't cause me to throw off the rest of the week. I think normally I would have just said .. whatever.. and ate whatever I wanted for the rest of the week. Yeah ... bonus points for me.
Hope you are all doing well.
Sometimes I feel like a Barix orphan. My clinic closed down... I guess the great after care that they promised isn't really that important now. Don't get me wrong, I take full responsibility for my weight increase, but I wish I stil had that resource to turn to.
Ah well
Thanks for being there Tonia... I really appreciate it!
My Dear Brooke, after reading your post, I feel like I could sit here and cry. I feel as though I know exactly what you are going through. My highest weight was 296 (I was 286 on the day of my surgery) and my lowest was 152. Today, I am weighing in at 176 and I feel sick to death about it. I do the same as you...I go on a health kick for a while, the weight comes off and then it comes right back on again. I was perfectly content at 165 and feel like I have to fight like hell to get back there again. I was a size 10 (almost 8) and it felt wonderful, now my 12s are starting to feel tight and my tummy wants to bulge over the top.
Something has got to give!
No one told me until I was a year and a half out that years 3-5 are the most challenging because everything is "normal" again...bad habits come back and it can mean big time trouble.
I don't know what I can do for you, but I am willing to help and support you so that you can be successful.
By the way, you are NOT whining. I have a feeling that there are many of us out there going through the same thing, but are embarrassed to admit it (I know I was). The whole point of this is to band together, be strong and help each other through.
Hang in there kiddo.
Tonia
Tomorrow, well right now, I've decided I really need to stop this! I could wear 16's easily for awhile... and now my 18's are a little tight! This is it, the clencher... I really need to feel accountable to someone... can you guys help me out? Maybe ask me if I've exercised... or if my eating has been on track. ... or if I'm remembering to wait a half an hour to drink after eating.
Please don't tell me to go to a more popular board. This is exactly where I need to be... on a board with people who are on the same time frame as me.
Guys I really need help here... what do you say?
I hope everyone is doing ok. Well my family and I have left our home due to the hurricane. Please be in prayer for us and others affected by this storm.
Take care,
Loni
I used to what Big medicine. I did not know it was still on. I will look into it it. I like that show.
I am not taking those meds for the past 5 months. I have actuaslly been ysken off 3 meds and I have not added any new ones. I have tried all you mentionrded no luck
Thanks again.
There are some new procedures, where the stomach is reduced in size in a procedure that is accessed via the throat. I recall watching the procedure on the TV show "Big Medicine".
Of course, making your stomach smaller might not be the only answer for your current situation. Given your new meds, it would be wise to consult a nutritionist and determine if there are some diet changes that you should be undertaking, to counteract the side effects of your medications.
My boyfriend is on medications that commonly have weight-gain as a side effect, but by changing his diet to a high fibre / low sugar diet and adding daily exercise, he has been able to beat the odds and refrain from gaining weight. Only a professional can give you advice that is specific to your medications. Ask your physician for a referral to a registered dietician or nutritionist. (I'm in Canada, so I don't know your medical referral processes in the States)
Best wishes and remember that support and encouragement are always available here !

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having. Don't let this get you down, I know that is easier said than done. Make sure that you post this on the main message board, you might have a better response and get some answers that will help you.
Take care,
Loni
