I had my gallbladder removed January 27. I had been having pains for a while, off and on for a few months. It was so easy compared to wls, and being 110 pounds less probably made a difference too! The recovery was so fast.

Thanks everybody for your well wishes....
And Judy, the pain with this surgery was nothing... well, comparitively speaking anyway. I'd rather have this surgery anyday than have to bring home another baby.... LOL... Can you tell I still have little ones...
I was surprised this past Monday when I took off the little Dermabond sticky things.. My surgeon used 2 of my old incisions from my gastric bypass surgery, and one new one and did this gall bladder surgery laprascopically. The 2 smaller incisions, while they looked to be an inch long under the dermabond, turned out to be less than one half inch long, and I can barely see them at all. The one on my belly button was a little bothersome, but even it is only about an inch long. All of them have healed without any problems at all. I know I am a wimp when it comes to pain, and believe God gave man the ability to create pain meds because he knew I was coming into this world a wimp.
I go back to work on Monday, and I am ready. The first week worried me a little because I tired out so easily, but I think I am ready to get back to the normal swing of things now.
Hugs,
Susan

I had mine taken out many years ago, and I'm glad because it seems that more and more of us are now having gall bladder surgery. I feel bad for you because it's really a painful surgery. I hope you had help after you came home. I think it's kinda the same pain as a c-section, but you don't get to come home with a baby! Stay Well,
Judy

Brook,
I am so proud of all of us! I keep a fat picture on my mirror, just so I don't get to ****y..... But I sure do love my new body, wrinkles and all!! Love to all, Judy

Diana,
I smiled like there was no tomorrow!
AND I shook hands-firmly but not to firmly.
I don't know if I'll get it but it definatly was an experience. My older kids told me I should mention that I can multitask- I've done that forever but never actually used it in a sentence or told someone that I was able to do it!! And I practically reeked of positive energy. Well, I'll let ya know what happens.... Judy

It really was strange sitting in the office with whom would decide my fate.
I'm not sure but I think his toys were under the desk!
Really he seemed very nice. He kept asking me written questions that probably will be my "working demise" He asked me how long I wanted to work there. Now ordenarllly, an answer would be years and years. But I'm 60 years old, so years and years take on a whole new meaning, if ya get my drift.... So I told him 20 years. I couldn't help it, it just came out, the more nervous I get, the more my mouth moves, almost if it has a mind of it's own.
In the end after all the questions he told me there were 50 apps. submitted and I was one of 8 face to face interviews he is doing. I would, if hired be required to take cpr and first aid (no biggie, I've done that for 35 years) Also a backround check, which I was really good about.( I've also had to do that every so often for foster care) I didn't even get silly and ask him if they count those pesky bank robberies! Or if they just check Ohio......
I think it would be a nice place to work and I'm hoping I'll get it. But I have enough to worry about, (the tooth fairy has to show up tonight for two of the kids, I swear they're pulling them out just for the cash!) and we have testing tomorrow so I have to go pack three of the girls "healthy snacks" Have a happy.... Judy
