Topic: How did you do in April?
Hello December Crew, Come out and tell us how you did in April. Are you still losing? Are you maintaining? How much have you lost since WLS? Well I had lost two pounds and ended up just losing one pound in April. The last two months before that I had lost three pounds. So the weight loss is so ssslllllloooowwwwww. I have been doing so much better on my exercising. I am trying to do at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. It's still not great but better than nothing like I was doing. Since WLS I have lost 204 pounds. I am so happy and loving life. I'm still in 12's. Seems like I've been in 12's forever. Have a great day, Diana 379/175/?

Hi Monica back your way. I love PA also. We where living in NY and I hate it. People in NY and NJ are always in a hurry as PA people are more laid back and take their time. Ron and I had spoke of maybe some day selling our house and getting a RV and traveling but that will be some time as Ron is only 59 years old so he has a about 5 more years or so before he can hang up his hat from working. Hugs and keeps in touch Donna

Hello Monica, Wow sounds like ya'll are living the great life. That is so neat. I have always told my hubby I want to buy an RV and travel when we retire. You will have to let me know if you are ever in Texas. You must go see the movie RV that just came out with Robin Williams. Hubby and I saw it Friday. It was so funny. Thanks for the update. It was good hearing from you. Keep us posted on your journeys and your travels. (((hugs))) Diana

Good morning friends. John & I are in lovely central PA in the little town of Selinsgrove. We are really enjoying our stay here and we decided that the mad dash to Florida is silly now. Our original plan of action was based on our decisions of last fall, when we put the house on the market and wanted to travel south away from winter. Well the house did not sell until late winter/early spring, a month ago. Now we are in beautiful spring time weather and the need for warm temperatures is happening all around us. We love this area, the fishing is wonderful, the people delightful, and we are very comfortable......so we decided to just plain stay here in Selinsgrove until the beginning of June. The campground is accommodating our request and will find another space for us to stay in. John and I take day trips to various streams and places of interest. I am happy and so enjoying the RV, our new home. Each day brings small and large surprises and delights. I still can't find many items that I have packed away into the many, many nooks and crannies of this large RV. Figuring out where I put something is like a scavenger hunt. I look for one thing and find many other things that I did not know were put in this or that place. My scale has not moved now for a while. However my clothes are getting bigger and bigger. I am doing so much walking, lifting, and enjoying of life. If I did not have WLS I could never have attempted this new life. Thankful for everyday I am! John & I have always loved trout fly-fishing. This has been our special time together. However for the last 4 years fishing has been difficult and almost impossible for me. The last trip to PA for fishing in 2003 was such a hard chore on me. Walking was painful and I had such shortness of breath. I pooped out quickly and did not enjoy myself. Now with 130 lbs gone I can walk, wade in the rivers, throw my fly line, get up, get down, put on my waders, tie my wading boots, and do this for hours at a time. I am thrilled. I am catching fish and doing so well. John & I are meeting such great people, and no one knows that I used to be morbidly obese....that was another Monica, a prisoner, someone who looked at life but did not really live it to the fullest. Hurrah for me and this exceptional surgery and this web site filled with such great, caring, devoted, knowledgeable people. Hope that you all have a lovely Sunday. Remember to be good to yourselves, follow the rules, take your vitamins, and enjoy your lives. We are all so lucky. Hugs Monica

I will catch up with everyone soon - I am lurking often, but I rarely have time to post. I wanted to share with everyone that I participated in my First Half Marathon today in Queens. It was great. I was really nervous about the distance because I had a hard time on an 11 mile training run. I'm not going to say that it was easy, but it wasn't as hard as the 11 miles. Rodney (dh) met me at the 7 mile mark, 10 mile mark and the finish line. It was great knowing that he would be at these points because it gave me something to look forward to as I was running. We were lucky because it was a beautiful day - absolutely perfect for running. I finished the race in 2:45:32. I was hoping to finish in under 3 hours, so I am thrilled with my pace. It averaged out to a 12:38 pace. I was able to keep to a 12:00 min pace until about mile 10, then I slowed down a bit. It was really emotional for me at the finish line. It is such an amazing accomplishment for me. I was glad Rodney was there to share it with me. So, I am now training for my second half marathon. Am I crazy? Here are some pictures from the event: http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?&mode=fromsite&collid=54614707205.330835965305.1 146399553660&conn_speed=1 I hope everyone is doing well.
