Wow Karen - it sounds like you are all set up at home. That is great. I think the key to exercise is to make it convenient. If it is too hard to get to the gym, etc. it just provides more excuses not to exercise. You certainly don't have any excuses now Keep on plugging and you'll get those 36 pounds off. You are doing great! Mary 302/172/1??

Thanks Karen for the support. It was hard to hand over my Parrot Alex but the lady emailed me and said he is actually doing really well in adjusting for the first day. He ate without any problems and was chirping and cackling with her and her two children. He'll get lots of attention I did post to the PA forum and that's how I found a home for Alex. At first it was hard to give up my job but like my husband told me. Your not only killing yourself but your killing my wife. He said take sometime off, regain my health backand start looking again for a better job. Monday thru Friday job ONLY!! I need to start eating better, drinking my water and getting my sleep onca again. Donna

Topic: Home Gym
I'm setting up a gym in my house. This weekend, I bought an elliptical trainer and my sister-in-law gave me a treadmill and a stationary bike. I already had free weights and a resist-a-ball. WOW. I now have a full gym in my basement. I love the elliptical. It has computerized read outs for distance, speed, time and calories burned. I can burn 100 calories in just over 5 minutes, without too much effort. Although I still enjoy my evening walks and riding my bike around the neighbourhood, I can see spending time on my machines everyday too. Still hoping to lose another 36 pounds. Oh Donna (((( HUGS)))) I know you must be going through some emotional turmoil over these lifestyle changes. I can't imagine having to give away my pets. They are like my children and I don't think I could handle it very well. My heart goes out to you. I hope you find a good home for your border collie. If I didn't live so darn far away, I'd volunteer. Of course, I already have 3 dogs and a cat, but they are one big happy family. Perhaps you should post your request to the PA forum. In regards to quitting your job.... I think you are making a good decision. Shift work is hard on the body. You will find a fantastic replacement position and it will all work out for the best, in the long run. Don't worry about this. I just know you will be fine. A special opportunity is waiting for you. Many blessings. Karen G

Only good things can come out changes. I placed Alex today and it was hard but I did not have a problem handing him over as they are a lovely family and it was nice meeting someone from OH who had Gastric By Pass surgery She'll keep me posted on how he is doing. Donna

I am sorry to hear about your life changes. A lot to happen in a small amount of time. But they say that change is good. I am sure that something good will come of this. I am very glad that you were able to find a good home for Alex. Good luck on keeping the puppy. Dogs are great but not everyone can handle all types of dogs. My daughter has asthma and that makes a decision to get a dog laying in the back. Your dog is just beautiful! I hope if you can't keep her that she will find a good home. your sister in WLS Chandi

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to the OH conference in Pittsburgh? I am going with 3 women from my surgeon's support group and I would love to meet anyone from our December family who will be there. Take care, Mary 302/172/1??
