I'm still here too...
I will catch up with everyone soon - I am lurking often, but I rarely have time to post. I wanted to share with everyone that I participated in my First Half Marathon today in Queens. It was great. I was really nervous about the distance because I had a hard time on an 11 mile training run. I'm not going to say that it was easy, but it wasn't as hard as the 11 miles. Rodney (dh) met me at the 7 mile mark, 10 mile mark and the finish line. It was great knowing that he would be at these points because it gave me something to look forward to as I was running. We were lucky because it was a beautiful day - absolutely perfect for running.
I finished the race in 2:45:32. I was hoping to finish in under 3 hours, so I am thrilled with my pace. It averaged out to a 12:38 pace. I was able to keep to a 12:00 min pace until about mile 10, then I slowed down a bit.
It was really emotional for me at the finish line. It is such an amazing accomplishment for me. I was glad Rodney was there to share it with me.
So, I am now training for my second half marathon. Am I crazy?
