I'm wondering how is everyone doing with their hair growing back in? Mine is starting to grow length wise but it's still rather thin and looks like straw after I sleep on it My girlfriend across the street told me it's getting thicker. I'm taking a vitamin for hair, nail and skin. I'm thinking of getting it cut real short. Donna 338/154

Donna, I cut mine short when mine got really thin. I like it..... however now it is beginning to fill in again and I am really thinking that I am going to let it grow back out some.... Good luck on your decission... I would not go drastic remember you can always cut it more, but you can never glue it back on! Jane

Hi Donna, My hair is thickening up a little, My problem is I have semi- curly/wavy hair and that was ok before surgery but now it doesn't look right so for the past year I was using a straight iron EVERY DAY! Ok duh, that is not helping my hair any so, I just now stopped using the flat iron and using a curling iron to make ringlets then bru**** out and it amplifies my already curly hair, I must say my hair already looks healthier and more full from not using the flat iron. I will have to take a new pic and put it up. So you are thinking of cutting it real short huh? Well have you had short hair before? What is great is before surgery we had longer hair to hide our faces now that we are normal with cheekbones we all would probably look great in short hair with our new slender faces. I'm too chicken to cut it real short but this summer I might go wild and do it. Are you feeling better? I was worried about your msg when I read it this morning, I hope you are going to go see your surgeon soon. Have a great day, Kelly

I had 6 inches trimmed off it in April 2005. As the new hair is growing back in... so is my length returning. I prefer long hair, even though it is more work. I now have a few 3-4 inch long strands that just don't do what I want it to do.... my solution was a care-free style, where it doesn't matter if every hair is in place. When I work, I use gel to slick it into a bun, which makes the loss unnoticable. I use Biotin H24 shampoo and a good conditioner, which has allowed the hair to retain its moisture and texture. If you are experiencing dry hair, it may be a result of the season. Winter is tough on hair. Speak to your stylist, before you make changes that you might not be happy with. Karen G

Donna, Mine is kind of getting better at least it was before my plastics surgery. I kind of had it falling out again after that surgery but I think it's getting better. Loni 237/118

That's interesting to know that your PS caused your hair to start falling out again. Maybe it's because you had both surgies to close together? Donna 338/154

Donna, Anesthesia can also contribute to the hair loss. So, it is a double wammy for us after the rny surgery. How are things going with you this week? Take care, Mary

Very true Mary on the anesthesia. I never put much thought to that until you just brought it up. I'm doing OK. I have not slept since last night at 10pm as I worked last night and got off at 6am and had to go with Ron to get his Capsule Endoscopy done. Shall fine out the results on Monday. In all honesty I'm hoping they find NOTHING!! Donna 338/154
