hi december family! I was just wondering if any one has had any cosmetic surgeries yet? I am considering having a panniculectomy and have lots of questions!! I have lost 166#s and need to loose about 40 more, however I have a large amount of excessive skin (apron) and I think surgery is the only way to remove it. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Melinda

You might try posting your questions on the plastic surgery board to get a quicker response. I don't think too many of us here are at that point as yet. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/plasticsurgery/posts.html Sue O.

Melinda, I had my panniculectomy on December 19th, 2005 so I'm just a little over a month out and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Just email me. Take care, Loni

I went for a consultation and they said it was best to be 18 months out and at a steady weight for 6 months.

Hi Melinda, I had a panniculectomy and lower body lift on December 13, 2005, so I am a little over 6 weeks post-op. I will be happy to answer any of your questions, feel free to email me personally. As an aside, if you still have 40lbs to lose, your doctor will likely make you wait. I am at my goal weight, well, actually, I'm 5 lbs over my intended goal weight, but I have been maintaining steady now for over 3 months. The key is to have maintained your current weight for at least that long before a doctor will consider plastic surgery. Michele 282/160/???
