One Year Post-Op Bloodwork Results
I am anemic, I have extremely low iron, and very low B-12 which will require injections.
I already knew I had low iron levels (I've been told that for years, and stupid iron supplements don't help). I've also had anemia for some time now, though it was only an iron-deficiency anemia due to all the blood disorders/diseases I've had over the years.
I am waiting for the doctor's office to mail me the lab results so I can see the numbers for myself.
I've read that some people take B-12 supplements (tablets) and don't get the injections. How do I know which is right for me? Does the doctor just automatically assume I need the injections because that's easiest?
No wonder I am so freakin' rundown and tired all the time. I swear, by 5:00 every day I'm falling asleep.

Hey Christine,
I had all my lab work done also. My B-12 was down but I haven't been taking my pills. The doctor told me if it was hard to remember to take one every day that the injections might be better because its just once a month so I may opt for that. He also said I needed to take my iron and calcium but the levels were okay. He said to just get in the habit of it everyday, think of it like taking the place of BP, Chol, and BS meds.
Anyway it sounds like a B-12 injection might get your energy level up.

Christine, I just had to tell you I just got mine back and they are worried about my iron, so I guess I am off to the store to get somet today.. I knew it was low only because I am off my birth control and had two periods in a row, but it still hasn't returned to normal, I am getting DIZZY all the time and it is starting to drive me nuts. My tiredness isn't as bad as it was though. Anyway gotta go workout so I can get ready and go to the store than to work.. Good luck on getting yours up!
