HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Well Hello Everyone;
It's official, Today I am 1 year old. I was thinking today how it seems just yesterday that I was sweating bullets of anxiety over what was about to happen to me after surgery and now it's been a whole year ago and thank God and Dr. Freeman and Staff I am doing great I'm 110 lbs. lighter I feel great. I am probably healthier today than I have been all my life. I think that we have all come a long way since this time last year and we have a lot to celebrate. We have learned a lot in the last year, been through a lot and we have survived. What a blessing. I was reading some of the posts the other day where some of you were talking about what and how much ya'll were eating and my hat is off to some of you and maybe that is why some of you have lost a lot more weight than I have because I find that it takes a lot more for me than what fills you guys up. I just prey that it is merely that my Dr. left me a larger stomach because if not I will surely be doomed to failure. But at this point I eat 5 or 6 times a day and and catch myself still having the old head hungers that I have to fight with. So is it just me or are some of you having the same problems. Well all I can say is as long as I am not gaining weight I guess I am doing ok. I really would appreciate any imput any of you guys have on this matter. Also give me somemore ideas as to how much you guys eat at one time. Anyway Happy Birthday to All of You.
Your Loser Friend,
Jim
Happy Re-Birthday James... And I am right there with you... When I see how little some of the folks here eat, I feel like such a hog... Some days more so than others, but I just feel like I am eating way too much comparitively. I'm sure like everyone else, depending on the density of the food I am eating, I usually eat about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food per meal. I still try to do the protein first thing. And sometimes I only eat protein... If I have something like salad, I can eat quite a bit... or soup or chili, I can eat quite a bit... but if it is just meat, I get full pretty quickly. I absolutely only have 3 regular meals per day.. but every now and then the head hunger strikes me too and I munch... And not very healthy munching either... And those devil carbs...
James, know that you are not alone in your struggles.... I kinda convince myself too that as long as I am not gaining, I should be ok... I have been on a plateau for nearly 4 months now.... I am trying really hard to convince myself that I am not done losing yet. Just 12 to 22 more lbs.... However, I am much healthier now than I have been in many many years... And that was the whole point of having this surgery.
Keep up the great work!!!
Hugs,
Susan
Happy Birthday James!
I have been taking in 5-6 small meals of about 1800 cals per day over the past 2-3 months. That is when I'm "good". I have been off program and have taken in a lot more for a week or so at a time. I'm not too worried, because I don't gain a lot when I'm "off program". Plus, I have more energy on the 1800 cals per day. Based on my activity, I'm still running a deficit. I figure we ALL have the rest of our lives to find what works for us. I'm just grateful for what this surgery has given me...my life back!
