Heading to Rochester, NY today, for my one year check-up
My appointment is tomorrow morning at 9:30 pm. Coming from Toronto, it is a long drive (3 + hours) and with the unpredictable weather, it just seemed more logical to plan for an overnight visit.
I am looking forward to this trip so much. I don't have great success to show off to the doctor, but I have great health. I am hoping to do some shopping and (this time) I will be able to walk the malls without any worries. Yahoo !!! So, I'm leaving in a few minutes.... won't be back online until Wednesday. My actual "anniversary" is Thursday. See you then.
Take care,
Karen G
Karen, I'm stumped by your claim that you don't have "great success" to show your doctor. You've lost almost 100 pounds, do you realize what a wonderful accomplishment that is? You have got to stop comparing yourself to everyone here. It's not about who loses the most or the fastest, it's about what we've done for ourselves. You've lost 70% of your excess weight, which is EXACTLY where the majority of us are at after a year, and that makes you the TYPICAL bariatric patient. Now, stop being so hard on yourself, and pat yourself on the back instead!

I was disappointed to find out that I had to stay 48 hours to be allowed to bring back some shopping. That sucks, eh? So, my only purchase was one gift for my grandson, an NFL NY Giants Football Jersey. He is a huge NY Giants fan and I couldn't get this in Canada. He will be so happy. I declared my one purchase and the customs guard was okay with it.
So, tonight I am running out to work on my outstanding shopping. Hopefully, I can finish my Christmas preparations by this weekend. I hate shopping during the week before Christmas, its just too hectic.
Cheers everyone.
