One year today
I was sitting in the hospital room waiting for my happy shot - excited but nervous, 285 pounds....today I am sitting in my chair, 157 pounds- I've got so much room between me and the table I have to pull WAYYYYYY up - Things I noticed about being thin(ner):
1. Arms really do have pits
2. Its really hard to shave those pits
3. Losing weight is not the key to all happiness - but it sure does turn a lot of locks
4. Walking is not a stress test...it is actually fun
5. People smile a lot more than I remember
6. I smile a lot more than I remember - but I have always been a smiler
7. I don't sweat as much so I don't have to wash my clothes every time I put them on for 15 minutes
8. I don't sweat as much so I don't need a bath two or three times a day
9. Did I say how much people smile at me now!
10. My husband is so very much more attentive than he used to be - I feel so loved but that is probably more to my attitude than his..I feel like I CAN be loved now
11. I look forward to social gatherings and actually have fun
12. People smile at me now!
As we approach our 1 year anniversary - feel free to add to the list...I am thankful that I found this surgery, that this surgery has given me a new life - a life I never thought I would ever experience since I was always the fat kid left looking in...I just want to wish everyone a happy birthday this December...I look forward to many more Decembers!
Let's see what I can add to this list.
13. WLS gave me the courage to find a job that I really love and I'm even thinking of maybe going to back school in the near future.
14. I get noticed more by men. Nothing wrong with being flattered by that.
15. I'm more out going. I have always been out going if you have not noticed but I'm even more out going.
16. I like showing off my new body. Mind you, that don't mean I wear sleazy clothes, only wear sleazy clothes for my husband
17. I smile more also.
18. My husband was the best thing that ever happened to me and WLS is the second best.
