still throwing up?
Is anyone else still throwing up frequently and having difficulty eating
certain foods? The list of food I can actually keep down is very short!
I cant eat anything sweet, any type of pasta causes me to vomit,MEAT of
any kind is out of the question.I'm scared to even try bread.I read some of your posts and read what everyone else is eating and think something
is seriously wrong with me.I see a nutritionalist who tells me to keep trying small portions of new foods, but frankly I am tired of throwing up
(my throat is sore) It isnt a medical problem(as far as they can tell) I was
checked for a structure months ago. I basically eat crackers, yougurt, refried beans and popcicles.I still drink protein(sometimes) but there are days I actually eat no solid food at all!!! I dont
feel bad at all,in fact I feel great and I am 9 pounds away from "onederland" I cant wait to see 199 on the scales! I hope everyone is doing well.Melinda
Melinda,
If is has been months since you were checked for a stricture, maybe they should check again. It sounds to me that you should be able to eat more than you are able to at 10 + months out from surgery. I wouldn't worry about not being able to eat sweets, that is probably a good thing. Have you tried toasting bread? It is not uncommon to have problems with doughy items - so bread and pasta could be difficult. Have you tried fish? I found that very easy to tolerate in the early days.
Best of luck in finding the solution.

I still throw up, but it's not nearly as often as it used to be and it's usually a result of eating too much.
I am starting to have difficulties with things that I didn't used to. Bread/pasta/starches like that cause intense pain when they're going through my intestines. They didn't before, but they sure do now.
I think you should talk to your surgeon, see if there is something going on. Keep us posted!

Hello Melinda, i would be wondering Why can't you eat more solid foods? I was throwing up alot every day and I had a upper Gi and it was fine. But I felt like there was something wrong! gut reaction so my doctor did the scope and found that I had a narrowing from my stomach to my Intestines and they put a balloon in there and strechted it out! I hardley throw up at all, anymore but i still have problems eating bread but I can eat toast fine. I just knew that there was something wrong you should be able to eat more then what you do. I would talk to your doctor ASAP! Your still eating stuff that we ate in the first couple of months. I hope that you feal better and please keep me informed Heather Sizemore 12/30/04 258/135/134
