10 months annivsary 10/27/2005

Hi everybody. How have you all been?I hit a new low today 259 that makes me part of the double century club(-200).Everybody I see can't believe it's me.They say i look 20 years younger!!!1 I have a XL sweater on .not bad if you consider i was wearing 7x 10 months ago!!!My bmi is down to 34.2 from 61.8 10 months ago!!! This has been the best thing i ever did!!!What a ride !! I have alot of loose skin.When i loose another 20 pounds I'm gonna look into getting it cut off.I figure i have at least 30 pounds of loose skin.How long should i wait till i look into sugery???Well thanks for listening!!I hope everyone has a great week.Taco 459/259/220 LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome - I have about 15-20 more to go and I figure I have about 10 - 15 pounds of excess skin. I'm waiting myself to hear the answer....

Congratulations, Jeff! The doctors at Barix say to wait 1 1/2 years after surgery, to give your body time to adjust. You're still losing at this point, so they say it's best to wait until you've gotten down to a weight that you'll be maintaining from now on. Terry

Congratulations Jeff!!! I know that you must be so proud of yourself! I am down 160#s and I dont have any regrets.This surgery has changed my life! I will be looking into plastic surgery as well.My doctor said its best to wait until youve been at goal weight and let your body adjust before skin removal.Its fun to research the websites about plastic surgery and be getting some idea about what its going to cost! Hi Jeff Way to go with the weight loss My surgeon who also does Plastic surgery says he waits until a year and then will look at giving you PS. You might call and ask your surgeon as it might depend also on how much weight you have lost. Have you tried asking this question on the Plastic surgery board on here? They might have the answer. You are doing fantastic! About the plastic surgery ... I guess there is a lot of differences among doctors. Mine, Dr Saba, who works with Dr Elariny, says that anytime after one year is fine with him. Or maybe he was only talking about for me, I don't know. The fact is that when you are younger, your skin can rebound to some extent, so waiting makes sense. At my age, what is stretched is going to stay stretched, so there is no point in waiting. I'm aiming for next summer, when I can take time off from work. ~~ Leslie 238/145/138
