My Fellow Deceberians
Well it looks like we are, right now, a dissappointed board. A lot of us have come to a point where we aren't losing very much... myself included. So I want to blame a lot of it on the fact that I am 10 months out and my metabolism has slowly caught up with me.
That isn't entirely true though. I know a lot of it is my fault to. When I was first post-op (seems like forever ago even though it was less than a year) I was all gung-ho about everything. I measured, weighed, counted and read about everything before I ate it. It came to a point where all of that stopped. Now sometimes I graze, a lot of times I eat too fast, and most of the time I don't get all my liquids in. My exercise routine is dwindling. These are not good things and are not things that I want fall into the habbit of. You see it's habits like these that made me fat in the first place.
My goal is to lose 20 more pounds by the end of this year and 40 more total (by next summer). I'm not going to do it by letting these old habits creep back into my life. So as of today I've taken it back... slow eating 6 times a day, no grazing. No more than 5 grams of added sugar per meal and no more than 10 grams of fat per meal. Get in ALL 65 grams of protein and stay under the 1400-1600 calories my nutritionist told me. Get in all my liquids and most importantly... Exercise at least three but closer to five times a week... for 45 minutes!
So Decemberians are you with me?! Are we going to kick this slow streaks butt?
I am with you - I have 15 pounds more to go and I seem this week to be wanting to eat everything - and graze...I want to be at my goal (don't know what my doctors goal is) by my 1 year appointment - 15 pounds in two months is not too much to ask...I just have to stop letting these old habits creep in...
I'm with you. I'm guilty of those things too. I have been stuck on 180's since June (I was 177 lbs for a couple of days). I even went up to 192 lbs. Right now I'm 187 lbs. I graze all the time and I eat the wrong foods and I don't excercise regularly.
This week I finally said to myself that I need to get back on track. I have 50 days til my 1st anniversary and I want to loose at least 17 lbs. My doctor's goal is 160 lbs but my personal goal is 170 lbs. I'm 5' 10" so that would be a good weight for me. That will give me a total loss of 72 lbs.
I have been doing very good with my eating and I have been to the gym everyday this week.
Good Luck to all of us Decemberians!!!!

Hello December crew
I agree with all of you, being 10 months post-op, I can eat more and I tend to graze a lot more. I currently wear a size 10 or 12 depending on the cut of clothing. So I have decided that I am rededicating myself back to eating better. So starting Monday morning, I will start off with my protein and more protein. Eating/drinking more protein and keeping the carbs at bay (my goal is to keep my carbs at least to 20 grams a day, focusing more on protein). I will try this for 7 days and see if I can jump start my loss again. I have 10 more pounds to go to hit my goal weight.
Also try going to google.com and search for pouch rules and follow that that should jump start you again. Good luck to us all. Our anniversaries are fast approaching.

Hey Brooke
Thanks for this post! This is very much me! My addiction to fiery hot pringles and peanut m&m'shas been winning. I have to be better about grazing on these two demons! While I am happy with my sucess so far, I do want to lose another 13 pounds to get to my goal of 140. Right now I'm in a 6/8 - and I feel great, but I still have two chunks of fat on either side of my hips that will not go away. I'm sure it would if I would get my butt back to the gym! I will join you in your reaffirmation of "kicking my own butt"!

I am so amazed that everyone on this post sounds just like me! I have 40lbs to go and am on a 4-month "plateau". You have really given me some good motivation and I am definitely with you on this. More exercise, more water, and less sweets and other carbs are my goal for the rest of the year. It would be great to lose 15-20 lbs by the end of the year, and I think we all can do it if we return to the same motivation that brought us to WLS. Let's start kicking butt!!!

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!!! I've been eating too much for about 4 weeks now and have lost only 1 lb. Since there are so many of us in the same boat, it makes you wonder if there's some physical drive behind us wanting to eat more. Of course, like you said we can fight it and get back on track. I've lost 93 lbs and I so want to hit the century mark. The day that I reach the century mark will be the same day that my scales will register below 200 lbs. I just need to buckle down and DO IT!!!! I think it's easy to get complacent when you've lost as much as we have because you can do so much more physically and people are complimenting on the loss. I don't want to stop here though. I want to lose 40 or 50 more lbs.
