Where is that FULL Feeling? Where did it go????
I am now 9 months out, and I be darned if after I lost my 100 pounds, (or after my 8 month), I was able to eat anything, and I don't get full fast. Is there someting wrong with me?
Yes, in the beginning, I was full after 1-2 bites, then 3-5, then 8-10... now I can get through an entire bowl of something, until I feel discomfort. Now that I am 9 months out... I feel no discomfort, and am still loosing weight, but also gaining!
Yes, I still watch my diet, and watch what I eat, but the weightloss has slowed down a bit. Heck, I even gained 9 pounds! Well, it was around that time of the month, but still... damn!
I feel great, but am afraid that I did/am doing, something wrong. Are any of you experiencing the loss of THAT FULL FEELING? Should I worry about a stretched pouch? I figure, as long as I remain around -100 or so, I have nothing to complain about. In fact, I want to loos 25 more pounds, so I can have that to play with!
Smile everyone who has gone through... just type your thoughts here, for the next person and remember... WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
Still here!

Hi Vera!
Yea..you are def. not the only one going through this. I am really worrying about stretching my pouch too! After all I can now eat about 8-10 oz. of food! That's alot. Of course still too little compare to pre-op but STILL. Like you, I would also get full after a few bites. Before an Italian beef I would eat 1/4 of the meat and one tiny bite of soggy bread. Last night I was able to eat 1/2 the meat and three bites of soggy bread and two fries with cheese (I mooched off my friends fries). So...I can def. see the difference.
Some days of course, are better than others. One day I can eat like a COW and the next barely have two bites of something.
I think I need to rethink this whole thing and stop eating the foods and maybe go back to doing liquids for a couple days to give my pouch some time to heal from all the bad food.
I cant' wait to hear others' suggestions!
Good Luck you seem to be on track!

I can't sit down and stuff myself because if I do I'll get sick but I am able to eat larger portions and it depends on what I'm eating. Soft stuff I can eat more of but meats I can't. I go through stages. One day I'll eat all day (small amounts) and then other days don't care for food.

I don't rely on the "full" feeling to tell me when to stop. I measure out my portion and that is what I get to eat. If I'm not full when I'm done, well too bad. If I get full before the measured portion is gone, then I stop. I never get hungry, but have to schedule food throughout the day so that I get everything in.

Hi Vera
I totally feel you on this one. There are days that I can eat everything and days that I can't stomach food. I can definitely eat a lot more but according to my surgeon he says the pouch will stretch to accomodate 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food. I difinitely don't rely on the full feeling anymore. We I make my plate, I make it accordingly and don't go back for seconds. Usually water will feel me up and I am o****il it is time to eat again which is usually about 3 - 4 hours later.
I say to just continue to eat protein first and monitor your portions and we will do just fine.

Vera I have noticed that when I start exercising again (since I still can't stick to it) that my full feeling comes back very quickly. Especially when I did the cardio today. See if that helps you. I too am having a very hard time with the gaining and loosing 5-10 lbs at a time. It's great when it goes back down but sucks when it goes up..lol I think we are all at that point that food is looking good again and that suckS!!
Good luck all
God Bless,
Michelle
I totally agree with you! But when I really think about it, I realize that the times when I'm eating way more than I supposedly can, it's because I'm eating non-protein stuff. Or softer things. For instance, I think I could eat a whole (big) can of tuna with mayo, etc., on crackers, no problem. So I just get the lunch kits with the smaller amount. So I guess it comes down to sticking to the rules. And I think it's normal for our pouch to be stretched. Someone said before that after the surgery they could eat 1/4 of a small McDonald's hamburger, and half by 6 months, and all of one by one year. I think that sounds accurate for me. But if I take off the top bun, and don't have the fries I would have had before, that's ok! (What am I saying, I never would have considered a small hamburger to be a meal, anyway! A Big Mac, maybe!)
I agree about the last pounds being hard to get off. I've been hovering at -92 pounds or so for a month now, and I'm trying to get to the century mark! Congrats on already being there!
