Dehydration
I have experienced some dehydration since having my WLS but nothing like yesterday. It was awful and wanted to share it with you.
I woke up feeling fine but had a slight headache. Got to work and every time I bent down I felt dizzy and light headed and thought I was going to pass out. My lips and mouth where so dry. I only worked 4 hours so I rushed home to try and get some fluids in me. Instead my husband drug me out for lunch and then we went walking in the different flea markets they have all in area of PA but I had my water bottle with me I did feel better after eating and getting some fluids in me. I thought my ordeal was over with.
Then my job calls in the afternoon and asks me to work last night for 4 hours. Good old over time so I could not pass it up I got to work and started rushing around giving my elderly people showers and getting them ready for bed and BANG!! I started feeling sick to my stomach so I drank some water and then I ended up losing my lunch
I slept from 9:30pm until 8:30am this morning. I'm retaining water because I can't get my ring off I guess I need to pump more water into this old body of mine. Maybe I'll just hook up the outside hose to my mouth and turn her on full blast
All I can tell you all is DON'T allow your body to get dehydrated.

Defiantly we do get dehydrated much quicker then other people. I'm fortunate that I have off today and tomorrow so I can pump the water in me as I feel run down and tired today.
We are not allowed to carry water on us in the assistant living factuality that I work but I'll have to start pushing the water more in the evenings.
I can also tell by my urine as it's dark and sometimes will smells and then I know I need to push more water.

That's how I keep tabs on my hydration too, my urine. If it's running light or clear I know I'm good...when it starts to darken I start taking in more fluids.
Powerhouse some fluids before work and then again when you get home, hopefully that'll keep you hydrated. It's really tough that you can't keep water on you at work...grrrrr!

Donna,
I am so sorry that you are going through that right now. I pray that you get hydrated SOON!
I start drinking as soon as I get up.. first think in the morning I drink 20 ounces of water and then have my protein drink mixed with another 20 ounces. So I get in 40 ounces before 10am. I then drink throughout the day.. I usually get in about 140+ ounces a day. lol Those rare days that I don't get enough, I sure do feel it!
Feel better soon!!
Kathy
Dehydration is a nasty thing. I try very hard to keep all kind of liquids in me. I have been working on getting 100 oz of liquid a day in order to jumpstart my weight loss again.
So far today 32 oz Decaf coffee
20 oz Water
For a total right now of 52 oz.. I am gonna drink 2 more bottles so 40 oz before supper and then I will only have 8 oz to get in which should be no problem. I think with that much intake dehydration will not occur.
Maybe you need to set a certain amount you will drink each day.
