Hi Everyone, I am sorry I haven't been around this past couple of weeks. Alexander my nine year old had a severe asthma attack that landed him in the hospital 11 days ago. We FINALLY got out yesterday! He is still not breathing great, but doing so much better! Started off at Medical Center of Mesquite and then we were transferred to Medical City Children's. Oh what fun.. NOT. Anyway, I am so glad to be home and I will try and catch up on here some. Kathy

Sorry to hear about your little one but glad he is home and doing better. You take care of yourself and your son. My husband and son suffer from asthma but I think my son is grownig out of it. Sadly my husbands lungs are shot Hugs Donna 338/185

Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your son, but also glad he is doing better. I'm sure y'all getting to come home will be as therapeutic as what they were doing in the hospital (Well, being a Respiratory Therapist, I know what they were doing there was most helpful, but being home does wonders too). Y'all get plenty of rest... Hugs, Susan

Thanks Susan, It was a LONG stay in the hospital and I am so glad to be home. He is still on a lot of meds and I still have to do the CPT every 4 hours on him as well as the nebulizer every 4 hours rotating the atrovent and albuteral. Fun oh fun.. NOT! Kathy

Kathy, sorry that your son got so sick. I have asthma and as an adult I have had some very hard attacks, so very sad that a child must go through this. Many children handle this with such dignity and grace, we adults can learn from them. Hope that his breathing improves and that the triggers to his attacks can be found and removed from his life. Best of luck to you both. Monica
