What upsets your pouch

What's the worse thing you can eat that upsets your pouch and gets it to turning? I was telling Diana on here through another post how over cooked meats and grease don't settle well with my pouch at ALL. I had chicken wings for lunch and was all the way home and then finally brought it all up once I was in the privacy of my house. You talk about hurting. I went on to tell her that on Friday at work I had yogurt for lunch. Half an hour later while in the dinning room with my residents I felt hot and thought I was going to pass out. Not sure if it was the sugar in the yogurt or maybe I did not eat enough for the day but that was a very scary exprience. I make sure I carry plastic grocery bags in my cars in case I do need to bring my cookies back up . Make sure there is NO holds in the bags as I learned the hard way Donna 338/188 -150

I have been very blessed in this area!! My pouch does not like me eating too fast though. I try to be very careful about what I choose to eat. I can tolerate a small amount of sugar. Last night I ate a cupcake with no icing and was fine. I really wanted another one I was too scared!! Fear sometimes is a good thing! One thing that stays in my mind is that just because something does not make you sick today, does not guarntee you will not be sick the next time!! By eating slow you sometimes know how your pouch may react. we will always have to becareful. Blessings Tonya

Wow, reading the posts.... u guys are angels compared to what makes my GRETCHEN THE GROUCH (pouch) mad. REESE's Peanut Butter Cup (and NO not the SUGAR FREE KIND) lol. Wow I've had those, throwing up convulsion episodes too donna...but I could never throw up the food. I wonder why. I will literally sit on the floor trying to gag whatever it is that made me want to throw up and nothing but froth will come out so be lucky your food is at least able to come back up. Hi Candy. Yea your right, I haven't been around. I've been out of the country and now that I'm back I'm hardly home . Yes, girl, I'm having too much fun this summer. I have to make up for all my FAT summers when I'd stay home in the AC cause I couldn't bare the heat. Thanks for the compliment... You are doing awesome...Now all we need is a PICTURE of you so we can see you when you post messages . Gracie

I haven't found anything yet that my pouch disagrees with. I don't do sugars and I eat fairly regimented. Not too much experimentation. I can only eat three chicken wings and then, I am stuffed. I am just too worried to try new foods. Karen G

Hi Donna, My pouch hates all sugars, sometimes even sugar free things that are still too sweet or syrupy bother it, any type of breads, greasy foods, mayonaise, yogurt, and cucumbers. I do very well with fruit (especially melon), but sometimes more than 5 grapes is nauseating. Moist meat and fish is my main staple. The funny thing is that certain smells will actually make me feel sick too. I was in a Wendy's and the fried smell combined with Orange disinfectant that they were cleaning off the tables made me so sick I had to go outside for air! It doesn't happen to often and I am happy to say I am 5 pounds from the century mark and 9 pounds from goal!!! Hope you are doing well and that your hubby is feeling good too! Hi Donna, I, too, am one of the lucky ones (or unlucky if you really think about it). The only things that make me have a grouchy pouch plain water, or too much of anything. I can tolerate small amounts of just about anything. But if I overeat even just a little, it lets me know it. The only things that have ever made me throw up are beef tips from one particular restraunt (I loved their beef tips pre-op) and a too big slice of chocolate cake. (I know...shame shame) And I also don't throw up what bothers me... just the foamies. But even that makes me feel better. The biggest lesson I have learned through this surgery.... MODERATION I can have anything, pretty much, as long as I just have a little... as my sister says... just enough to make my taste buds happy so I don't want to gorge on it later. I don't have difficulties with any food. I do have trouble if I try to jam too much into my stomach (you know, "the clean plate club" thing). If I avoid that, I'm fine. I wish there were some foods that did upset me, but there aren't. What I have going for me is the control imposed by the size of the pouch. Sue O.
