I'm wondering if any of you have so called friends or best friends that used to just love you and suddenly they don't have the time of day for you or think your getting to skinny? You'll probably say they where not real friends to start with and I guess that's right. It kind of hurts when your so called "BEST" friend who used to be at your side through thick and thin now thinks I'm losing to much and don't share in the joy that I share in when I drop weight anymore I'm done whining Donna 338/188 -150

Hi donna. Your doing awesome. Wow, your almost toward your goal. Your right when you say they aren't your REAL friends.... then again, jealousy will rear its ugly head. is your "friend" chubby?? Usually its like that when they are big and you become skinnier than them, or they are skinny and are fastly approaching their sizes. Either way, they are jealous so you don't have to worry about it. Dust your shoulders off and keep enjoying your success. I have an aquaintance that ON PURPOSE always says..."Wow, girl you gotta get an arm lift...or wow girl, you can see the stretch marks on your arms. I always reply....We'll your right but damn girl... I'm just glad I don't look like an UMPA LUMPA (Character in the movie charlie and the chocolate factory). She does it on purpose because I'm now skinnier than her ass. So trust me, you will go through this and will continue to go through it, but you know what.... don't sweat it. You do YOU. Take Care Gracie

My friend is over weight but not obese. Your right about to hell with them. I'm happy with myself and so is my husband and that's all that matters Donna 338/188 -150

Gracie! Can you believe some people? Just recently this idiot that my sister knows came over here and goes..."Oh my god! You're getting so thin! You can see your shoulder blades..." But THEN she goes, "Yuo've got to get that STOMACH cut off! It looks DISGUSTING! I'll bet you're gonna need ALL KINDS of plastic surgery!" So I said, forget this Bi%#$, and walked off. Of course she followed and said she wasn't trying to offend me...yeah right...so whatever...we have more sucess and some people can't stand it. People make me mad...sorry you guys, I'm feeling a rant rising within... Vicki

I have not had that problem, but it would really hurt my feelings also.

I had a few friends that didn't know how to react with me being skinny. But they are happy for me. I say we should feel sorry for all those who wish they were us! It is a hard thing to do and very couragious, also some just aren't heavy enough to do it but still too heavy and not able to lose the weight. Those wish they could or don't have the guts to! When people tell me I took the easy way out I usually respond with "yes it was alot easier to get up the courage to go through life threatening surgery and changing my life forever than I thought it would be." I have a friend who had the surgery and most of her friends have stopped talking to her.(they are all single) They told her that they can not get used to her being more confident.I think She is too much compitition for them. Everytime they go out she gets just as much if not more attention than they do. She used to sit in the background as her friends got hit on. Now guys go to her first. So,They just stopped asking her to go out with them. Your friends ,I think may just need some time to get used to the "new" you! your sister in WLS Chandi 305/296/?

YES I HAVE A FRIEND THAT IS A BIG PART OF MY LIFE AND EVERYTIME WE DID DIETS TOGETHER AND IF ONE OF US GAVE UP THEN SO DID THE OTHER.. WHEN I TOLD HER I WAS GONNA DO THIS... SHE THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA.. SHE SAID OF COURSE SHE WOULD NOT NEED TO BE SO DRASTIC BECAUSE SHE IS ONLY 125LBS OVER WEIGHT. AT FIRST IT WAS NOT A PROBLEM.... BECAUSE ALL OF A SUDDEN INSTEAD OF SEEING HER EVERYWEEK I ONLY SAW HER ONCE A MONTH.. AND THEN IT WAS JUST BRIEFLY... WELL IN THE LAST MONTH WE HAVE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS TOGETHER KIND OF CATCHING UP... AND SHE IS NOT VERY JEALOUS OF THE FACT I WEIGH LESS THAN HER... THAT I CAN GO TO JUST A LARGE OR XL SHIRT... JUST A PLAIN SIZE 20 PANT ... SO INSTEAD OF OUR RELATIONSHIP BEING DEEP AND MEANINGFULL... IT IS VERY SURFACEY AND FLUFF... AND I DON'T TALK MUCH ABOUT ME AND HOW I FEEL... AND YES I MISS MY FRIEND.... WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR 25 YEARS.. AND THIS IS HARD. BUT HOPEFULLY SHE WILL ADJUST TO THE NEW ME... IT IS KIND OF SAD WHEN ONCE AGAIN OUR LOOKS ARE GETTING IN THE WAY OF FREINDSHIP!! BONBON

Hello Donna, I have a close friend that is heavy. I have always weighed more than her until now. She wears a 26. When ever we get together she never says anything about my weight. She has yet to tell me I look good or ask me how much I have lost. I don't bring it up because it makes meel feel uncomfortable. It's her loss she could have gotten some of my old clothes.
