Update on Hubby.

I just wanted to thank you all for the prayers and emails during this tough time, it really meant alot to me. Well we went to the Dr's on Friday for the follow up to the abnormal stress test and the cardiologist proceeded to send us to the Heart hospital for a Angiogram (I hope I"m spelling that right). Well at 11pm Friday night the Dr. decided that he just couldn't do anymore of the procedures that night and told us that he was admitting him and he would do it tomorrow. I actually was very thankful for that, I didn't like that thought of him being so tired and working on Don. Well Saturday Don went down for the intervention and I was told 45 minutes to maybe an hour well it ended up taking 3 hours. Don's right main artery was 100% blocked and they had a tough time getting it opened and almost had to do Bypass surgery on him. They tried doing the ballooning but it didn't work so he ended up having 5 stints put in the right artery to get it opened up and blood flowing through it. This has been one of the hardest times of my life, they said that they were surprised that he was up and walking around with the way the situation was. I say it was God taking care of him and I know that, because he shouldn't have been ok. So we are all home now and so happy to be here. I feel emotionally and physically exhausted and I just know that sometime today I'm going to break down and I think I need that. I haven't been able to do that yet, I had Mackenzie our 3 yr old with me and I just couldn't do it with her there, she was scared already. I could not believe how awesome this hospital was. It's a new hospital in San Antonio and they do nothing but Heart and Vascular stuff and they were just wonderful to us. The rooms are huge and Mackenzie and I were encouraged to stay there with Don, his room had a couch with a pull out bed in it and they even feed us meals, and they have the best staff I've ever seen in a hospital ever. Hi Loni... It is so good to hear this good news about Don. We are so blessed that God has given us the ability to have such fine doctors and the knowledge in medicine that we have today. Hey Susan, We feel so blessed to have everything turn out so much better than we thought.. I think that he will do better now, even today he said that he can feel a difference in how he is feeling and for the better. Thank so much, Loni

Hi Loni, I am glad that I came onto the site today, because I have had you and your family on my mind and in my prayers this week. My Dad had a heart attack 7 years ago and he had 2 stents (sp?) put in and he is doing much better now. He is on heart meds and cholesterol meds, but is doing well 5 years after the 2nd stent was put in. Tell Don that he is in my prayers and I am also praying for the wonderful people who are caring for him at the hospital. I am so happy that you feel comfortable with them and that they are being so wonderful to you and your little Mackenzie! God Bless you and keep in touch when you can. Loni, I'm so glad to hear they were able to do the stents for your husband. It is so much better and easier to recover from than bypass surgery. I pray for a speedy recover for him. Wow - I am amazed at how great the hospital sounds. There are no hospitals like that in NY! Take care, Mary 302/202/1??

Mary, Thank you for your support, it means so much to me. I'm so thankful that he didn't have to have the bypass surgery, I was so scared about that. Let me tell you the hospital was amazing!!! I will never go anywhere else when it comes to heart issues. Take care, Loni

You poor thing, My husband (John L) had 4 bypass Heart Sugery it was 2 years ago on the 4th of July. Thank God he didnt have that done. My prayers are with you and yours Brenda
