Hello, I had the gastric bypass in Dec. 04 weighing 245 since mid June I have been 183-187... I can't break the 180 now almost 2 months. WHY??? Eating? Exercise? How to jump start again? Thanks, I am so frustrated, Cyndi

Cyndi, Are you eating carbs? Are you eating small meals just to satisfy your hunger? How tall are you? Renee

I am also stuck on a plateau and am frustrated. I have rededicted me to drinking more water, eating protein first always, not eating a lot of the healthy snacks I have been having during the day, Relooking at portion size (really not a problem) and more exercise. Found I needed more protein and more water, less white carbs (although I truly limit these). Remember this is a step down weight loss and should not be a slippery slope down, loss, then body adjusting, loss, then body adjusting. Even though my scale has not significantly moved I have so melted, in size, with my rings and jewelry, I can see bones. So although we feel stuck we are body is adjusting to the weight loss that it has gone through in 8 months. Good luck and continued success, Cyndi Monica age 57 5'3" 330/232/1??................heathier, happier, sexier, thankful

I too am stuck! I am so frustrated also! I have been at 197-199 for 3 weeks now! Unfortunatly I can not do any strenuous exercise. I had hernia operation 2 months ago and my dr has me on limited activity so not to get a recurrence. 80% chance of it. that is very frustrating. I have only one goal and that is to lose 15 pounds by Halloween. I am definatly not going to make it by then. I am annoyed. You are not alone. i am hearing however that when you hit 6 months it is harder to lose and you get stuck a lot but it does end. I am also just glad to lose the amount I did. your sister in WLS Chandi 305/198/?

I'm finding that that I'm sitting for a while and then I'll have a whoosh and lose some pounds. Like on July 21 I was 196 pounds and today I'm down to 190lbs so give your body some time to adjust. Donna 338/190

Hi Cyndi, How much protein are you getting in? My surgeon had me getting 75g per day when I first started out. I'm now down 103 lbs. and I know I don't come anywhere near 75g now, but I'm not gonna beat myself up about it either. If you're exercising, you may be building muscle which weighs more than fat. Don't forget to get all your fluids in! Try not to be frustrated. The plateau WILL break. Keep doing what you need to be doing! Hugs, Christine -103 lbs.
